Rams hire Scott Frost

In hindsight, this appears to be an obvious oversite but it really wasn't that straightforward. In all fairness, Burrow was a bit of a late developer hence his transfer from Ohio St to LSU. Urban Meyer had him behind JT Barrett. Martinez was a top 10 dual-threat QB coming out of a top H.S in No Cal. It was a misjudgment in talent but not egregious given the available info at the time. Of course, it looks dumb now.
Hind site is 20/20. Ask Lasorda. Even his mom knows it was a mistake to pitch to Clark

NFL Today

Rams had no passing game that day ... a mere 5 pass completions for a pitiful 60 net passing yards.
Jeff Kemp did OK that season when Ferragamo went out but the Rams' passing game was very limited.

The Cardinals actually had 100 more yards of offense that game; and twice as many first downs.
That was always our Achilles heel. We never had a real passing attack at the same time we were able to run the ball. As much shit as McVay gets for being pass happy. Could you freaking imagine him with ED or even McCutcheon with that Oline? You know he would have figured out a passing attack to go with the maulers they had on the Oline.

Too early final 53 man roster

BTW, regarding Hummel...I didn't realize that he ran a 4.51 at his pro day. I understand pro days can be favorable for a players time, but that is still damn good even if it would have been a 4.55 at the combine. Als9 a great 3 cobe drill of 6.83

He is an awesome athlete... top 4% in RAS when he came out... that's of more than 2400 LB prospects over several years.
Impressive as hell. Hope he figures it out.

I’m getting more upset by this the more I think about it…

Here’s a reasonable take from Reddit post:

Are hits to ball carriers knees illegal?

No, it’s not illegal. However, it’s understood by defenders to not aim for the knees and legs if they can, or else they’ll be labeled as “dirty” by some players and fans. But it’s not possible to always avoid contact like that when a play is going on.

Kerby Joseph for the Lions was called dirty for his hits to the knees of TJ Hockenson and Tyler Higbee, but the intent to injure wasn’t there. Just 2 unfortunate accidents in close proximity. My add: ‘2 avoidable accidents”.

Words from Whit..

Yeah Ogletree was a clusterfuck what with them paying him then turning around and moving him once Wade got a close up of him in action. :laugh2:

Jones is of course much better than Ogletree ever was, as AO couldn't fill for shit. Hopefully Speights won't disappoint like Littleton did.
I was okay they let go of Ogletree when he missed an easy tackle in the Atlanta playoff game that gave them a first down on a third down and long. He did that too frequently in his career.

Matthew Stafford is the Biggest Inspiration For Dynamic NFL Rookie

Stafford is just...it's not just his arm talent that makes him great. He's legitimately one of the toughest (both physically and mentally) football players I've seen in person, if not the toughest. He will play through damn near everything, he got nailed a lot in Detroit and kept getting up and taking shots down the field.

Injured ribs? No biggie. Fractured finger on his throwing hand? Still played through that. Separated throwing shoulder? So what? Back injuries? Yeah, what about them? Finger dislocation and torn ligaments on his throwing hand? Didn't miss shit. Multiple ankle sprains? Psh, whatever.

The guy is the fucking Terminator: he will not go down to anything you throw at him, and he will get up, fired up, and lead a game-winning drive.
But but but, he missed time this preseason so he must be incredibly hurt. Either that or with age and a smart coaching staff, no need for him to hurt his body in any way until it really counts.
I'm looking forward to the season starting. I would not be surprised if Stafford ends up in MVP conversations.

Tyler Huntley Being Released

I liked him coming out too. And yeah him speaking our offense means he would be a fit if they want a change.

Have a feeling they're gonna stick with Bennett but never know.
For this season they will for sure.
I had thought Bennett would go to PS once Garopplo was off suspension but I dont even think that will happen now since they changed the "emergency" QB situation.
I sure wish things were different but it sure looks like its 1 year of JG at QB2, then its Bennett's job to lose next year
