Report: Chris Shula on Titans' list of potential head coaching candidates

The Los Angeles Rams were fortunate to return most of their coaching staff in 2025, keeping both of their coordinators on Sean McVay’s staff. That could change this offseason, however.

Chris Shula and Mike LaFleur could both draw interest from teams searching for their next head coach, and Shula’s name is already being connected to one vacancy. According to The Athletic, Shula is one of many candidates the Tennessee Titans plan to reach out to during their search.

Other names include Matt Nagy, Lou Anarumo and Jesse Minter, among several others.

Seeing a trend with some of these players. Injuries and hitting the wall this time of year. If I didn't know better I would say Matthew and Puka's grades were a little low.

Truly impactful draft class

There is just no Rams draft class in the last 30 years that has been as impactful out the gate as this one. That's as far back as I looked.

Puka leads the entire fridge league in receptions and is #2 in yardage.

Avila is a plug and play stud at guard.

Byron Young is making plays every game and seems to learn by the moment.

Kobie Turner is a legit D lineman.

Ethan Evans is majestic.

These are guys making IMPACTS in their first two games!! Not just showing up.

And we still have high expectations for Several others... and so many of them are on the roster.

This is ABSOLUTELY the kind of draft that resets a team. All without a first rounder.

Lessons learned

I think if turner hadn't had the INT the Rams would have played the last quarter differently and probably would have done what they have been doing for the last half of the season. A team brings it to a one score game and the offense drives the field like nothing and scores again. The rams win.
But the rams went into celebration mode. Offense came out flat and well you know. We laughed our ass off at SF a few years ago when they celebrated an INT with a 10 point lead in the 4th quarter of the SB. They thought they had just won the game. It cost them the SB.

This just might be a blessing in disguise. At least it happened before the playoffs. The rams should have known better, but they let up. I just don't see this type of thing happening again to the rams when they get up on someone. It will be "remember the Seahawk game" on the sideline. The Seahawks only won a game, the Rams will win the season.

Holding big leads

In two of our losses, the Phily and Seattle games, we had big leads but were unable to maintain them. What do you think is the problem - the defense going into prevent mode, the offense getting too conservative, or a combination of both? I thought once Darnold got hot the other night, Shula should have pressured him more. We all know what Sam does under pressure. Unfortunately, our front four wasn't getting there enough on their own. I felt once we got up 16, we went into the old "bend but don't break" mode (not that we haven't been in it most of the season) and let Seattle drive down the field without getting much pressure on Darnold. McVay really needs to address this. No team as good as the Rams should be blowing big leads like they have this season. Also, we need a new special teams coach but we all know that.

The Journey is What Really Matters.

Every game this year is a journey. Sometimes our team loses heartbreakers. More often, we win - and we've won a lot this year. I'm not even focusing on the Seahawks game. I'm not focusing on how we could've won or lost or whatever happened...because it happened, and there's nothing we can do to change the past.

Just bear down, focus on one game at a time, one day at a time. Don't forget the mistakes but learn to correct them so that we won't make the same one twice. But most importantly? Realize that each game is a small piece of a large journey, and that journey has led us to be a true contender for a Super Bowl. So, no matter what happened our last game, no matter what happens yesterday, learn from what we do, so we can do better, every single day. Because that's all we can be: a better version of ourselves today and a better person than that tomorrow.

Now, on to Atlanta.

Should teams start going for two if they get the ball first in OT?

After Puka scored the TD in OT last night I was thinking if we went for two and got it, even if Seattle did the same we would put the ball in our hands to win it. In reality, the extra point really does nothing for you. If you’re point if that they can just score and an extra point wins it, well then you need to stop them from scoring in the first place anyway.

I just think with the way the rules are, the best way to go about it is to go for the win at all costs. Dont put it in the hands of the defense in a long game. Thoughts?
