We're winning right now guys, and until things start going pear shaped for the Rams I don't see anything changing on the depth chart, and why should it. Truth of the matter is, we don't know what Goff will bring to the table for the Rams at all. Case is doing a good job, honestly guys go back and watch the last game, he was good, he ran the offense, put in some solid passes, was elusive in the pocket when he needed to be, put in some BIG throws (some of which weren't caught (but could have) and we scored some great TDs, lets not rock the boat too much ok??

I don't see anyone calling for Gurley to be cut because his contribution has been less than stellar so far this year...

I do think before I post as the board's message prompt suggests.

It just is so hard to get motivated to post anything before the masses when I see no one displaying any understanding of leadership skills, when I see no one understanding management uptake, and when I see a "home state" selection for the number one pick without a single person seeming to know that it was a marketing move to establish a team moving into a new area. When I see all of this and read inane posts arguing about a team that is winning, it greatly saddens me about the state of human slavery to marketing of the rich, the beautiful, and the politically connected.

Ex: Keenum was in this game.
How bad was it?
We only won by six.
Damn! They should have put the "golden child" in!
I have been around several different Rams message boards and cant recall more than a handful of posters claiming Goff was a "marketing move to establish a team moving into a new area." Its obvious the Rams had a great following in the LA area and did not need to draft Goff to sell tickets or promote the brand
Oh please don't limit this to just Rams forums. Pick any team, in any sport. As a matter of fact, feel free to pick just about any subject discussed by humanity. Preferential puffery abounds on the planet, and people hate to face the idea that virtually every aspect of human life has a system of influence and control. Even those running a system to sway others eventually become controlled by it. The funny thing is that once you begin to understand and begin to believe this, a sense of freedom starts to emege, and allows the mechanisms to begin to be seen.

Keenum or Goff, it does not matter as long as the cash flow proceeds from citizen to team, nearby businesses, and government coffers in an orderly fashion. But I do hope the Rams win.

I can, if he's throwing a good number of INTs vs. the scout team, as mentioned earlier. That and remembering the preseason fumbling issue should end any discussion of starting him over Keenum, IMO. But, I'm sure it will not.

wow if he is throwing ints vs. scout team I can't help the word bust creeping into the back of my mind. must fight it off.

7 pages spawned my Jry's man crush on Goff? No spank you!
Had to laugh at this......LOLOLOLOLOL!!! Not only Jrry's my man....LOLOLOLOLOL

I find it odd we're spending so much time arguing readiness to start in regards to Goff vs other rookie QBs when all of the rookie QBs were forced into action. That's not to say that Dak Carson and Lynch (to a much smaller degree) haven't taken advantage of their opportunity because they have. But to sit here and act like the only reason Goff isn't starting and these guys are is because of readiness is off base.
That's the problem...why isn't he ready? Hell, why isn't Mannion READY!?! Is Siemian that much better? What the hell is it gonna take? Is Fisher happy with the 30th ranked offense? The last ranked QB? What the hell is going on? Of all the top teams...we have to have the worst starting QB...Why? and we have the #1 pick....I'm not buying the "he's not ready, Case is better" Sorry...I know a ruse when I see one...I'm not going for the banana in the tailpipe...All bullshit...Cause we don't have to be barely winning these games...Case is awful...Case closed...and we are gonna struggle when people start game planning his bs...

Would it look different with a QB unsure of himself and struggling with progressions?

Well if he is not ready then he is not ready, but could he have been any worse than Keenum week 1? And Case still didn't get them in the end zone game 2. Why is it inconceivable that Goff could have slowly progressed the same way Case has over 4 games. Keenum still leaves plays on the field. Sure the team is 3-1, but is it a confidence boosting 3-1? No. The offense still has a long way to go.

I am just of the mindset that Goff will learn faster with live reps and the best players on the team. Fisher thinks Keenum will give them the best chance to win by not making mistakes. I might agree if the team wasn't winning by the skin of their teeth each week. Instead I see plays that I am confident Goff can make that Keenum misses.

I really think Fisher is tired of finishing 7-9 and not willing to let the rookie learn on the fly, because he thinks the defense can carry the team. But he can't actually believe that Keenum is going to win playoff games can he? So, why not get Goff ready for next year by playing him now? Because Fisher wants to finish above .500 more than he wants to develop his QB. Just my opinion of course, but If he thinks Case is taking him to the Super bowl, it might be time for him to retire to that fishing lodge in Montana.

Anything is possible. But, let's not forget that fumbles can be TOs, too. And I might be mistaken, but that's something I believe that even you had expressed some concern in the past.

Absolutely. He could turn it over via fumbles or interceptions. Could not. Either ways, as long as we're winning, I'm okay. I still think it helps us if we can get him in the game. But if we win, I'll be fine waiting.

I just wonder how many reps they are giving him in practice. 20%? How much better does he know the offense now than week 1?

I'll admit to having a quick trigger finger - especially when I see Case miss a throw - but if the team is winning, then I probably wouldn't mess with success.

May i ask why you were acting that way? I was over the moon when the game finished. I, like everyone, can see the limitations case brings to the offense but he played his arse off for the Rams and they got the win. When goff is ready they will put him in there. I am at peace with it now because that's the way it's gonna be no matter how we feel about the situation.

.

I'm fine with Case for now too. My main gripe is the predictability of our offense. I can tell where every run play is going and I'm no D coordinator... That and Robinson... And the challenges

Oh shit. It's happening again

Goff and Mannion are studs. We're 3-1. Best start in my 8 year old sons lifetime. And we have a #1 qb with 6 wins out of last 8.

10 in the box to stop Gurley. Passing game is making teams pay.

We are poised to go deep. Any of our 3 qbs can win with this team!

Hang on fellas!

This shit is gonna be fun for a while.

About goddamn time.

Go Rams!

Yeah, but while it might not be a confidence boosting 3-1 for you and some others, I can see how it can be a confidence boosting 3-1 for the TEAM, which is more important. Besides, there could be plays that Goff can make physically that Keenum misses and plays Keenum makes mentally that Goff could miss right now.

And it wouldn't shock me if Fisher believes if the TEAM can win playoff games with Keenum at QB as the TEAM has won games with him at the helm vs. a couple of the tougher teams in the league already. Shoot, a few years back I recall Texans won a wildcard game and came very close to winning a divisional playoff game with 3rd stringer T.J. Yates at QB.

I am not using the lack of experienced QB coaching as a reason to start Goff. It could be a big reason that he isn't ready though, and I think Fisher is fine with it.
I realize that...but you're impugning the coaching rather than looking at the reality that it could be Goff also.

The storm started when Goff was listed as QB3 prior to the first game. It was the talk around much of the league. I see Goff as indirectly similar to Quick when he was drafted. Goff just isn't near as much in the dark as Quick was coming from Division 2. Goff is at QB2 to get him ready...I don't disagree with that necessarily except I find it fascinating that Mannion who was QB2...is suddenly getting pushed aside. Why?
I wonder if Case get t s hurt if Fisher allows Goff to go in and throw any passes. And if an injury to Keenum lasted more than a week does he start Mannion.

He would have to...but first let's see if Mannion will get a chance to suit up this Sunday. If not...and I'm Mannion I would be asking for a trade...because he's getting overlooked.

I'm afraid we won't see Goff till Keenum loses 2 or 3 in a row and then it's too late . The Rams have no luck with QB's .
Bradford tears his ACL twice and now look at him , and we all know about Foles . Then they trade away the farm and the kid doesn't seem close to being ready while other rookies are tearing it up . It's enough to drive you nuts . Yeah I know we are winning , but do any of you think they can rely on the D to get 5 turnovers a game only to win by 4 and force a turnover at the very end of the other two games . A win is a win but it won't happen every week unless the offense puts up more points .

30th in scoring at 15.5 ppg
30th in rushing at 76.8 ypg
30th in passing at 192.3 ypg

But hey we're winning and a 3-1 record with the 30th ranked offense is a sustainable winning formula!

I'm sure the Rams would trade Mannion in a heartbeat if they got offered anything decent for him. Mannion isn't suiting up this Sunday. It's not happening. Goff is the #2. That's very obvious at this point. The Rams care about getting Goff ready to start, not being nice to the guy they deem to be their career backup.

Mannion isn't getting overlooked. He's just not starting QB material.

Whoever changed the thread title, I blame you for putting this song in my head that now won't leave.

So long, I've been looking too hard, I've been waiting too long
Sometimes I don't know what I will find, I only know it's a matter of time

When you love someone, when you love someone
It feels so right, so warm and true, I need to know if you feel it too
Maybe I'm wrong, won't you tell me if I'm coming on too strong?
This heart of mine has been hurt before, this time I want to be sure

I've been waiting for a Goff like you to come into my life
I've been waiting for a Goff like you, your loving will survive
I've been waiting for someone new to make me feel alive
Yeah, waiting for a Goff like you to come into my life

You're so good, when we make love it's understood
It's more than a touch or a word can say
Only in dreams could it be this way

When you love someone, yeah, really love someone
Now, I know it's right, from the moment I wake up till deep in the night
There's nowhere on earth that I'd rather be than holding you tenderly

I've been waiting for a Goff like you to come into my life
I've been waiting for a Goff like you, your loving will survive
I've been waiting for someone new to make me feel alive
Yeah, waiting for a Goff like you to come into my life

I've been waiting, waiting for you, ooh
Ooh, I've been waiting
(Waiting) I've been waiting
(I've been waiting for a Goff like you, I've been waiting) won't you come into my life?
Aah-aah-aah
