This has become like one of those movies where you know the monsters out there, but you don't know when it's going to strike. So we sit, with pins and needles on edge. This Suh movie is starting to drag...3 out 5 stars for me!
So you’re saying we’re a bunch of half naked college girls going to check out what all the screaming was about?

OK - my boss - who once again was a pro coach and knows Wade - says all this 3 tech, 1 tech, stuff is BS. Wade will use the three on the line and in many cases the 5 on the line to go after gaps and he'll do it with the same players in different gaps. Brockers and Suh and in many cases AD will all be the same position depending on the look he wants and who he wants to match up against. It won't really matter who is considered a NT. He will line them up and play the gaps. Sometimes that will mean Suh would be shaded on the center, other times Brockers, and some times but not as much, that will mean AD. That is coming from him - not me - but I get what he's saying.

The only "fit" with Suh is that he'd be running a one gap responsibility on the nose in this defense; I mean obviously if Wade ran a two gap he'd be a complete non-fit. But where a player lines up does matter IMO, and it's why the best interior rushers tend to be placed at the 3T. Suh is a 3T, an inferior player to Donald for sure but still a 3T is where he fits best.

As a 3T over the past few years he's averaged roughly 5 sacks a year (with 4.5 last year), putting him inside even in this scheme where a nose gets to one gap, he's going to be in a non-ideal situation for padding his stats. And that's important to Suh I think, and somewhat important to us from the perspective of whether we can count on the guy to focus in over the course of a contract that is probably going to be much less than he's used to.

We'll see if he signs with us. But I'm definitely on the side of the fence that prefers we draft the position. It will be cheaper, and we will get better production from a kid who is brought in with this staff than an old bastard like Suh. Also, I think they should be focusing on signing DONALD, vice putting even more money into the DL position.

If this does happen, I will find myself wondering whether they are secretly setting themselves up to be able to move Donald at some point. As that would make sense. But again, hope it doesn't happen.

Just telling you what he says as a former NFL Europe coach who also is very familiar with Wade’s system. No offense (don’t you hate that saying?)but I will take his word for it. I really don’t think they would be pursuing him if what you say is the reality of the situation. My boss actually diagramed out how Wade uses his entire line and backfield. He said even though you hear 1tech, 3tech, etc. it's mostly bs to make it easier for the fan to digest. In reality, that’s not how they design plays or target players for their system.

He also was not surprised at all by Barron being a Wade guy and thinks Ebukam and Littleton could play major roles this season along with Price. We’ll see. He did admit that he hasn’t seen enough from our young linebackers to really know yet.

It was the saga of a protractor...as Rapsheet said, "protracted saga", and we all know a saga can end shockingly...I know...a little deep...just adding to the quest for 100.

Interestingly, my boss also said that you can win a SB with players like Brockers but he’s not an ideal fit. He likes him but says he’s not really great in this system.

Suh played 1-T in Detroit. His role here would be basically the same, except he'd see less double teams.

Gotta disagree with the big boss man there.
