Do the Titans look like the favorite? There is a lot of nonsense in this thread I don't feel like reading through to get the information I want.

Not a fan of the "appeal to a higher authority" defense, but I think its truly the answer here. If Wade and McVay so need to have this guy, that tells me that they know exactly how to use him and that they are willing to upset the apple cart to get him.

Yeah and that's a fair point dieter. I of course have enormous faith in Wade, and I hope he is the one who told the Rams' front office that Suh is a guy he wants.

But Wade isn't omnipotent. He doesn't know what Suh's gonna do as a nose shade in this defense when he isn't being paid what he is used to being paid. Nor is he immune to getting enough bad apples to spoil the bunch. These are my concerns, along with them going out to get a third DL in FA instead of just getting Donald locked down.

If the Rams bring him in I am going to do what I did after they got Peters, which is cross my fingers and hope. But personally I don't think all these types of moves are going to add up to what fans here seem to think they'll add up to. Hope I'm wrong, as always in this type of situation.

I really hope we are covering our bases and bring in some other DTs while we are waiting on Suh.

As of right now from what I'm hearing it sounds like the RAMS have the upper hand.

The ball is in Ndamukong Suh's court.

I think if Suh comes to the Rams for a ring that you might be surprised at the beast that comes out. He may play the best of his career if a ring is the motivation.

WWE is not a sport its entertainment, same as a play. But NASCAR is a sport because it is a competition.

Suh has never been on a good team, only 3 playoff games in 8 yrs. When you figure the money he made in Miami, he (IMHO) would give up money for a Super Bowl. I think we are by far the favorite.

The horse jinks left to right before the fence and unseats the rider. As for the blindfold, that's a sheepskin noseband that's used to stop the horse throwing he head around helping the horse concentrate (although that doesn't seem to have worked in this instance!).

I cant tell if this is the case with these horses but they will also often put blinders on the horse's peripheral vision to prevent distractions. Not that it has anything to do what happened here of course.

Ok, so now we are getting somewhere. We are talking about god-given abilities and not training, timing, competition, strategy, rule parameters, teamwork and the like. Oh, by the way, the drill is pneumatic, the wheels (25 pounds) are held on by 5 lug nuts, the gas can weighs 95 pounds, the jack is 18 pounds. Of course, any dumb ass knows Carl Lewis can run and jump faster and higher than just about anybody else on Earth in his prime. But then again, these pit crews can do their craft better than anybody else on Earth. I'm not sure how Carl Lewis would do on a pit crew. Normally, ex NFL players are utilized on many pit crews. It seems OL/DL/LB and or WR are the former positions used the most. I thought we were talking about what is considered sports and who is considered athletes, not who was the best at a certain athletic feat? But of course, this is for a thread in another ROD Forum and not this mammoth Suh thread. But I'd have to say AD would be a better gas man than Suh and I think I probably hold the running out to the mailbox in the snow record but I did it barefooted.
;)

I was confusing the one nut deal with Indy and formula cars.

The next time you watch a pit crew just see what the tire guy does. He squats down, waits for the drill guy to do his thing then he removes the wheel, rolls it out of the way and replaces it with a fresh tire. How much athletic ability does this really require? How long would it take a couple guys from your local les Schwab store to be proficient at that?

How much athletic ability does it take to use the drill to remove 5 lugs and then put them back on again?

The pit crew is like what is known as the cheerleader effect. As a group they look pretty good but if you really look at them separately, you may be less impressed.

It is impressive that with precision teamwork they can do everything in 13 or 14 seconds but that doesn't mean removing a wheel and replacing it takes athletic ability

Jets rescinded contract offer after Ndamukong Suh went public with negotiations
Shalise Manza Young,Shutdown Corner 3 hours a

Veteran defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh still hasn’t signed with a team after being released by the Dolphins two weeks ago, but the list of suitors trying to add him to their roster has shortened by one.

Christopher Johnson, the acting owner of the New York Jets, told reporters at the current NFL meetings in Orlando that the Jets had rescinded their offer to Suh. Via Connor Hughes of The Athletic, the move came after the 31-year-old went public with contract talks he’d had with the team.

As Suh made his rounds visiting teams, he never visited the Jets’ facility, despite the team being ready to offer him a contract; he told Yahoo Sports’ Jordan Schultz on Friday that New York had emerged as a serious contender and that it had made the biggest contract offer.

Though Johnson wouldn’t say it outright, it appears the Jets saw that as a ploy by Suh to get other teams – the Rams, Titans and Saints are his strongest suitors – to up their offers.

What Johnson did say about the situation was, “On reflection and in concert with [general manager] Mike [Maccagnan], we’ve rescinded the offer to Suh. It just didn’t seem to be in keeping with our long-term plan.”

Suh is on the other side of 30 now, but he is still playing at a high level relative to other defensive tackles in the league, and could be an asset to the Jets’ defense. But the Jets have also taken measures to move away from having more difficult personalities in their locker room, and Suh certainly falls into that category.

Johnson didn’t say much after confirming that the Jets had decided not to go further with Suh, just that upon reflection, while head coach Todd Bowles could easily fit him into the defensive scheme with Leonard Williams, the entire package – Suh the player and person – may not have been the best fit.

“I had a lot of discussion with Mike about this,” Johnson said. “I think our thinking just changed a bit … In discussion with Mike, looking at what our plan is, it became apparent to the two of us this just didn’t work.”

Ha ha not quite no. That's not the Grand National, that was a meeting at a track called Wincanton. The rider was an amateur which might explain things.

I cant tell if this is the case with these horses but they will also often put blinders on the horse's peripheral vision to prevent distractions. Not that it has anything to do what happened here of course.
There are various ways of helping the horse concentrate. Blinkers, as we call them are common, as are cheekpieces. The sheepskin noseband is another method.
