I agree with about 45% of this but disagree with about 72%. The other 37.5% just confuses me.

Then you agree on more than 85% from my math.

Either way 6 games remaining will add for more debate on where The Franchise is at moving forward.

The 49ers had a similar disaster season following a great season.

In 2019, the Evil-Niners were 13-3 and almost won the Super Bowl. Then in 2020, they were hammered with injuries, lost 7-of-9 to close-out the season, finished at 6-10 and in last place.

Last year, they were back in the NFC Championship Game and almost won.

The NFL is a wonderful and brutal game. Tests the players ... and the fans!
The only difference is the Whiners actually enjoy draft picks and cheap contracts outside of the idiot move to move up for Trey Lance. They are still loaded with picks as well snd potential trade potentials compared to us.

My only intended point in the 49ers’ 2019-2021 years was an example of how a team can go from a terrific season, to a really disappointing one (where injuries are a major factor) and, then, right back to very successful; and experience that in back-to-back-to-back seasons.

And point out what an emotional Roller Coaster the NFL can often be.

Yes and No.

Overall ... ABSOLUTELY! ... last season was far more pleasant!

However, one year ago today, the Rams were winding-down a win-less November; and the mood here was ugly. The Vent Thread following the loss to Green Bay (can currently be found on page 65 of the Forum) is a great example, and fun read.

The Rams are certainly NOT in a comparable position at this moment, as they were at 7-4 following the loss to the Packers. However, if you read through that thread, the Rams' 2021 Season was hopeless and over in many posters opinions. As we know, the Rams went-on to win 9-of-10, and a Lombardi.

Like most posters, I believe this is a lost season, and the Team has major issues. However, just as I remained optimistic and hopeful in early-December of 2021 for the remainder of the Rams' 2021 Season, I am also optimistic and hopeful for the Rams' future.

Finally, anyone who spends a few minutes reading through that Vent Thread from last year (again, page 65) might notice that some of the most negative posters in that thread are some of the most negative posters in recent threads. It's not about calling anyone out ... it's about having some perspective.
What's the title of the thread you are referencing? I can't seem to find it.

Reductive because you’re not acknowledging that they’ve done a ton to avoid having him play. Guys keep going down.
They HAVE brought guys in.

But guys keep getting hurt.

Lol they only signed 2 FA IOL the entire year and kept them on the bench while he started the majority of the season but whatevs man, agree to disagree at this point if you honestly think the team has done EVERYTHING they can to keep Evans off the field.

So he went from a backup on a 3-7 team to a backup on a 3-7 team. Congrats :)

This thought crossed my mind when the Akers stuff started.

This may be the year a dominant back can lead a team to a SB. When McVay and Staley had the number one defense every team noticed. Now every team plays a version of quarters coverage. So now we see more run centric teams flourish. ie. Seahawks, Eagles, Jets. NFL defenses are switching back to more balanced defenses as the season goes on and we start to see some teams struggle scoring points, like the Eagles.

We also see teams figure out how to beat Match Quarters defenses. Everything is evolving all season. Teams that are built to play one style are going to struggle. This has been one of my criticisms of McVay. He’s married to his system. A system that needs certain players and in some cases perfection to work. It seems to be the case on defense now too.
Yea I agree with a lot of this however I'm still not sure a dominant bk is what it takes other players make more of a difference again going back 20-25 yrs how many rbs put a team on their shoulders? Like CMC can help the whiners as a whole but will he be the guy no.

Also three Major players this year no superstar RB but solid or good enough. Philly....KC....Buff....does anyone believe saquad or King Henry will put their team on their shoulders and lead them to a Superbowl. It's definitely a team game but that position is and has been devalued because teams that win can get by with a committee a good back a super QB or a dominant def.

Well, he didn't really have a choice. That said, who wouldn't take the Jag's OLine over ours? Or for that matter, ANY team in the NFL's OLine over our current 4th stringers?

So do the Rams have anyone better on the roster or do you have someone else in mind that would be a better fit?
I think Jason wants to retire after this year. I think he would be a decent pickup but as he said, his body is falling apart.

Horrible choice - imo
Well this is the guy I wanted back in the day & would have went all in for instead of what The Rams did. Would have changed the Whole Culture.

That said like the poster replied about his retirement. To old.

TGIF Andrew Whitworth. IMO I would have never drafted Brian Allen.I thought Joesph Noteboom was a good pick to groom at LT with mentor ship.
John Sullivan was underrated as well as Austin Blythe. The Rams needed a LG because of J. Brown was not the guy(got cut) & Austin Blythe was the perfect swing C/G. I believe Kelce at one point might have been worth trading for when the Eagles had that real bad season. Not sure if he was hurt or not ?

Back to the question. IMO The Rams are screwed. L.Bruss has to be counted on at least to play a backup role?
The Rams should have let Brian Allen walk.Shelton would have probably been cheaper with no NFL experience if they went center last season in the draft.

—I liked Dickerson & would have traded up,but the Too 5 centers would have been solid starters in 2022 at the least.
Thinking Austin Corbett could play Center was SILLY!!! Who did The Rams want at RG? Corbett was a blessing & Les Snead/Mcvay lucked out. In 2019 Corbett was LG & Edwards was RG. Bobby Evans was the starting RT & if T. Rapp doesn’t get caught with RAMsey (wtf) at the line if scrimmage on 4th & 18 The Rams probably make the playoffs & beat the Niners.

Once again I think The Rams made there bed at Center.Brian Allen & Shelton. Whoever survives as well to end the season has a chance?

RG or maybe LG has always needed to be addressed. The Bruss draft pick wasn’t a bad one? IMO RG needed to be addressed. coleman Shelton is a Austin Blythe type & is a Backup at Best(worst?) . Center is his position & Brian Allen is the issue?

He has 2 more years & Shelton 1 more season. That is the issue of not addressing the Center position in the draft 2021.
Tutu Atwell would have still been there, but the blessing is The Rams traded back & got Ernest Jones.

-Sonthe Thought if an aging n veteran Center with a All-Pro brother & a Philly guy who just needs to wave goodbye is a HORRIBLE CHOICE IMO.

Who then ? Freaking Finish Out The Season. Keep kicking the rocks(cans) or whatever to make sense of what you have first. The garbage is still not full & someone’s trash could be another treasure!

Let's be fair, Brain Allen saved the season last year, he played very well, but I concur I would have let him walk and looked at more healthier options, but the Rams felt he was also a good leader on the OL.

They can still regroup, they can move on from Allen, let Shelton be the starting Center next year, draft a LT in round 2, somebody like Matthew Bergeron from Syracuse, maybe Jackson unseats Noteboom, however, Jackson also showcased the ability to kick inside so that is also a plus.

You could get Kenneth Horsey from Kentucky to play Guard later & also Ricky Stromberg from Arkansas could be added later too and he's a center. That would give the Rams a Tackle, Guard & Center to add to the current mix and allow them to send players like Bobby Evans packing.
