I don't know guys... you want Brockers and Ogletree on our 2017 roster? What about Tavon?

Any extra space we have now needs to be considered for down the road needs. We are in retain-our-own mode.

Josh Norman is a fool. He's not worth what he's asking. The guys on Sirius NFL radio were ripping him. More than Richard Sherman? More than Darrel Revis? More than Patrick Peterson? More than Aqib Talib?

Get out of here!

The Panthers are odds on favorite to make a run at the Superbowl again and this fool thinks he's worth QB money?

Good luck finding a better deal than the Panthers now that most teams have spent most of their cap.

Have fun in Jacksonville, ya dolt.

You're 100% right, we're going to be real tight the next couple of years with all those draft picks we had. The contracts are catching up lol. It's all wishful thinking, imagine getting Norman after losing Jenkins :yay:

I hope the Rams sign this guy. Use the money that was slotted for Jenkins on this shut down CB. Defense will be Bronco-like. Plus a young franchise QB with Gurley taking pressure off him. Team will be exciting to watch.

This would be a beautiful match to pick up but the simple fact is we can't even afford him point blank.
If we can somehow convert salary to bonus money with a few guys we might be able to make up that mark and sign our Draft class and Whitner.
GLad we have Demoff in our corner!

I'd rather have the cap space to sign our impending free agents than Norman.

The value of CB. So underrated. Look at the super bowl teams. Denver with Elite cover guys. Carolina with Norman. Seattle two years prior with Sherman and Thomas, in the bowl.

Arizona same thing.

Elite CB's shut down pass games and make teams one dimensional.

Philly's logic in moving to #2 overall was that franchise QB's are very hard to find later in the draft, are rarely available via FA or trade and therefore must be sought at the top of the draft. Most of the other positions can be found later in the draft, is how the logic goes.

Agreed. But the same type of logic needs to in some degree be applied to shutdown CB's. They hugely affect the game and are hard to attain unless you want to give up $16 million a year now apparently.

I would try real hard to get Norman in here. Don't know if it's feasible. I would prioritize CB over Resiginings at LB (Ogletree) DT (Brockers but not
Donald).

Quinn I would pay but the Barron signing is still a head scratcher.

@RamzFanz has a great observation on this subject, on another thread, What if you use this big money on Whitner, and a Pro bowl type WR shakes loose in FA!!?!

Shaking my damn head.

Norman's a zone guy. We play mostly man. Cuz all our other guys are Man guys.... And they're pretty good at it.

Is Rams Nation now officially the freaking Island of Misfit Toys???

Bet we sign him cuz Fisher and Snead want to see me stroke out before the damn draft...

I wouldn't go after him if it's gonna make it a problem to sign our other guys next year but if he wants 16 million give it to him for 1 year I'm betting he wants to be the next be thing in LA living the rich lifestyle he can't do that in carolina

I'd take a shot at him. If Tru won't sign long-term, you'll have a season to see if Gaines will be good enough to replace him and team up with Norman.

Our main priority was to resign our secondary to long term deals. It didn't happen. Tru was tagged and JJ and McLeod ended up leaving to other teams. We won't get Norman.

Although, I do see the Niners grabbing him. Because that's the kind of luck we have. Planning on grabbing the first QB off the board = Rival signing pro top 10 CB.

Smart move, Panthers. Most teams don't have a lot of cap room left. Good way to convince him to lower the price. Best move Norman could make now is to take a huge 1 year deal with a "no franchise tag" clause and then hit FA next summer. But if he gets a mega deal, he might as well take it.

8 teams reportedly reached out to him already. The Rams are one of them supposedly. Niners, Jags, Steelers, Bears some of others. Niners rumored to be the favorite to, overpay, I mean land Norman.

I wouldn't mind if the Rams signed him. Great corners usually play well wherever they go. He is 29 so probably wants 3-4 year contract. With the Rams having 70 million below the cap next year maybe they can work him in. He would be off the books in time to sign Goff to his big contract.

I don't think we really have the money and I'm not sold at all about his fit in our system.

I'd listen to the critiques that Norman is a zone CB and we run a TON of man which means he's not a great fit.

Which means, they'll probably have him in for a visit (he said only half sarcastically...)

The Rams run both, sometimes at the same time on different sides. Williams is great at fitting scheme to players too. The Rams are reported to be interested so they must not think it is a problem.

Kinda surprised he's getting so much love in here. I see that talent, but I side with those who have already noted the prohibitive factors (i.e. His cost, the impact in retaining some of our own, the system, age, it may prevent us from going after WRs or other positions/players, to name a few).

Pass.
