There is an entirely new regime (again) in Cleveland. I'm willing to bet they'd part for a pick, just to have a fresh start.
Gordon sounds very committed to changing his life, and I believe his last suspension was under somewhat sketchy circumstances. I think the team was serving drinks on the plane and when Gordon partook, they dropped the hammer on him.
