One of the best threads I've seen here in a while! it's got everything, including a banning lol
Rams are building smartly. This season will tell us a lot if we're done re-loading after the SB year, or if more needs to happen. We really need a plan B for LT after Whit retires, which who knows he could hang em up after game 2.
But getting a shut-down corner in the age of the forward pass with WR-friendly passing rules is a must. Kudos to the Rams for getting it done while freeing up room to sign Kupp & maybe a F/A or two.

What alternative would you have to offer?

don't trade for him and use the 2 1st rounders to get cheap players on 5 year contracts . i know everyone is going to say that there are no sure things even in the first round but these are the same posters that say we can pick up good players in the later rounds. i don't know that much about the cap but all this signing bonus and redoing contracts sound like a ponzi scheme.

Live in NY watched him play wants corner money. I can tell you he is very good but not as good as the compensation the jets received. He has skill bit was made better by Greg Robinson. I'm not saying they are equals but I am saying JJ is damn good and shouldn't and couldn't bring back a similar package but I was asking what you guys thought he could bring back?
And again the jets had no pass rush all they did is blitz and send Adams in usually unobstructed. How many blitzes did Wade call for? Adams is a very good but highly over rated and factor that in with him requesting 16.5-18 million na man he ain't that good. I was just curious as to what everyone thought value wise not so much to compare the two I understand there is a difference. When you watch Adams more under the microscope this year with the hags let me know what you think/see.

Jet fans were giddy here in ny to get that type of package it was crazy jets got more than rams gave up for Ramsey. We got Ramsey on the cheap in comparison.

That's fair enough I can see that logic for sure. So the comp pick if indeed it goes that route best we can do.

Most know I was not a huge fan of the Ramsey trade and made threads about it but honestly man, that time has come and gone. We aren't going to trade him for a minimum of 2-4 years from now. Minimum of 2 years before it could be a slight thought but we get wrecked still. So I'll guess at the minimum he's with us 3 years at least.

That said, I've been thoroughly impressed with Ramsey's maturity and handling the situation especially with the media. Just really shows how bad Jacksonville is/was.

Time will tell on the Ramsey trade. I don't think I would have made the trade the way it was done.

If the Rams had extended him at the time of the trade it would have saved million every year. It's hard to say who the Rams would have drafted with the20th pick this year. They would still have 2021 1st and 4th round picks. Also the money/cap space difference from Ramsey's contract from the first-round pick. The way Snead wheels and deals he who knows how many picks he could have turned that first-round pick into.

I'm thinking if he plays like he has in the past and is capable of playing and he doesn't get injured he would get a nice chunk of change. I am familiar with how the compensatory picks work and I do think he would get us a definite 4th or a probable 3rd. That's why I had originally asked what people thought we could get in a trade just to gauge how people viewed him.

There are things that can be done. For instance this is an extension so they rework this year into the deal moving the 2020 cap hit from $13.7 million to say $3.7 million and move the other $10 million into a bonus thus freeing up room this year. This is just an example not saying they did this. But the issue with this is that other $10 million has to be accounted for in future years. So you give yourself cap space this year but hurt cap space the next few years.

Dallas just did the same with an OLinemans contract. Freed up $8 million this year but they'll spread that out over future years. I'd wager KD is his usually sly self and Ramsey's big cap hit year is 2022. Ramsey will get his but because of accounting tricks the bulk of his money shows up on the books in a year we have a lot of cap. Kupp when he's signed will be the same thing but in say 2023. It's all math and accounting games.
I enjoy getting a yearly bonus, so does Uncle Sam.

Maybe he thought lying about his age would give him some street cred with the Good ol' Boys Club or something. Nevertheless ...CIAO!

Wish credit for a freaking post was my most important concern...It's not, as I live in Phoenix, OR., a city (or what little is left of it ) in dire straights...

Absolutely, the thing is this doesn't change the way or when and how the player gets paid. It's just how the Rams account for it on their books. It's all a gimmick.

I was thinking about that. My son is in Eugene so we've been watching the local news up there. Unreal. My son and his fiance have put visqueen on the windows and doors to try to keep some of the smoke out. It's like night time where he is.

You and your family ok? All things considered of course.
