The answer is still no, ultimately.

If Goff gets injured and Mannion goes in, I want him to play as best that he can. Mannion looks decent against back ups and against future Walmart employees....I worry that he will be a large, not very mobile target, with a slow release QB versus star DE's in the NFL. We have to see how good Goff is over the course of this season, because he has qualities of a franchise QB and a MUCH higher ceiling than Mr Mannion. (IMHO).

When I saw Mannion in camp, (second day) he looked stiff to me with his arm and legs.

He looked good in the game the other day...against the Charger #2s and 3s. I think he is a reliable backup. Jared is better.

I didn't make anything up all the talk about what he was doing against backup are crucifying him because it wasn't done against starters lol.

What have Goff done?? Absolutely nothing. I don't tear down Goff when Goff makes a great play I say so I don't say things like awe the WR bailed him out or he playing against backups or it's just preseason. No those are the qualifiers that posters like yourself put on Mannion and that is him being crucified because you only want to acknowledge the bad and any good that he does do come with qualifiers on them. Just like the 2 throws last game to Cooper and Reynolds, it's he's going to get them killed and all that bs but if that was Goff it would have been completely different no body said nothing about the strike that Mannion threw to Reynolds that he dropped but all last year we heard about that drop to Cooper that Proves Goff had "IT". That is crucifixion whether you choose to acknowledge that or not that's on you it's not my job to prove it to you when it's clear.

The point and the fact remains that Goff hasn't done anything that people on this board said he was. All I heard about was his sweet feet only to see him run into sacks all I heard was he has great accuracy to see all of his deep balls go out of bounds. But me myself when Goff plays I support him, all last year I didn't bash him or "tear" him down everything I saw and everything I post on this board is a direct response to the differences of how these two QBs are treated. I show Goff a lot more love and patience then people do with Mannion because any time Mannion does anything positive it's a direct reflection of Goff. If Goff ass would finally play like a franchise qb then posters wouldn't be so butt hurt anytime Mannion goes out there and do things Goff has yet to do

Or maybe the playcalling gets aggressive with Mannion in how many throws have Goff attempted deep only 1 to Watkins, Goff is the check down king
I would say goff routine is getting thin sack fumble defensive touchdown and then an interception at least it wasn't a pick 6 but hey, last week everybody thought he arrived but forgot about the first half of the saints game so right now going off of evidence yeah Goff routine stinks

"I don't tear down Goff when he makes a great play. I only tear him down when someone doesn't agree with my opinion on Sean Mannion."

No I post statistics that backups what I have to say. I don't come after Goff like people do about Mannion the guy was rated the the highest PFF grade and his OWN fans was rooting against him saying that doesn't matter and bringing other teams QBs into it. Why?? Shouldn't everyone be happy that our backup is showing good, it doesn't seem that way so when people come at Mannion I just point out that he's been better then Goff, if people can call Goff "great" for going 4/5 and then turn around and downplay Mannion success you damn right I'm going to call it out. So like I said find anywhere on this board that I called Goff garbage or wanted Mannion to start when Hoff was under center during the regular season. You can't because unlike a lot of people I can live with Goff looking good or bad but people can't handle Mannion looking good.

Mannion is the teams best QB and he's flawed as well. If he doesn't start it's not because he doesn't deserve it. That said, I have never been a big fan of his, he's just the best they have at the moment.

It's easy to sling accusations without any proof but go ahead

You quoted the post with proof. You throw out petty attacks on Goff when you feel someone is attacking Mannion. That's coming after Goff just like people supposedly came after Mannion. It's not easy to practice what you preach. We all act hypocritically at times. But you gotta recognize you're doing it.

Time will tell. It eventually reveals the truth and exposes the poor souls who are wrong. :)

My take on Mannion, I like what I see. I feel good that if Goff goes down, Mannion has shown some level of competence. Hard to project what he could be, but so was Kurt Warner or Brock Osweiler until they got extended play time with starters in real games.

Goff shows more upside in my book with his pocket movement and accuracy. He has the system and cast he needs for a solid year. If he don't show it or is horrible this year I give Mannion some looks around mid season with some " Ghost Injury" to Goff. But I fully expect a huge year from Goff.

This over criticism of Goff is the same type of short-sighted thinking that eventually ended Bradford's stay here.

A quarterback comes in and immediately can't pull miracles out of his rear end and it's already time to move on for some people.
Ridiculous.

Bradford needed the same exact things that any quarterback needs (and at least Goff is getting).

If Bradford hadn't been jerked around every year with a different offense and had a decent o-line in front of him and some steady weapons, especially receivers, Sam might have been able to set an NFL record like he did last year.

You guys would have hated living in Rome because you would have expected it to have been built in a day.

I'm not the one calling Goff out after he make a good play, I don't say well hey the wr bailed him out or he made a bad read even if it resulted in a touchdown I don't bash Goff when it's an article about him being good. When people bash Mannion I just point out the hypocrisy, and I point it out by making direct parallels to Goff play because he gets praised no matter what he does or how little of it he does it, so I'm saying if we can praise Goff for going 4/5 surely we can praise Mannion too, but instead all there is are all these excuses on why Mannion performs how he does, either the Wr bailed him out either he got lucky with his read or he's playing against backups and scrubs it's always something. So me defending Mannion based off Goff on play isn't tearing him down

Tearing him down would be me doing the exact same thing everybody else does to Mannion

How many years did Bradford have, how many season ending injuries, I love Bradford till this day but he had a lot of chances in horn. I stated plenty of times that I want Goff to get the chance to work with McVay I think it's only fair and right

How many season ending injuries can be traced back to a sucky O line?

If you're giving Goff a chance the criticism was not aimed at you.

A lot of these posters are borderline silly;

Moonwalking 2 ft off the ground when Goff has a good game and ready to barbecue him and replace him when he has a bad one.

Let's get real folks. There will be ups and downs.

Getting an NFL offense clicking is one of the most difficult things in all of sports.
It takes time.
Do yourself a favor and relax a little.

He just doesn't look athletic because physically he's not.
But that doesn't mean he can't be effective.

Same thing with Havenstein.

Greg Robinson proves that there's more to being a good football player than just being athletic.

Teachability.
Technique.
Football smarts.

All very important.

I like both of these guys and I like the direction they're heading in.

You just have to grit your teeth a little bit and hope they learn from their mistakes and progress forward.

That's what I see from both of them.
