it he might have pulled out because they probably told him they were going to do more interviews. JT said in his chat that he was told not to expect a oc hired this week

If Bradford didn't have the past injuries, this would actually be a really appealing job. We have the ultimate weapon, Tavon Austin, a good running back or two, and a QB with a golden arm.

The Bills, Browns, and Bears didn't have issue with getting coordinators and they have QB issues.

Ehh.
Wasn't a good fit anyway. I don't think any of us were excited about having g him run our offense.

Now if Boras turns us down to remain the TE coach of the Rams....then we're in deep shit.

I would really be excited with a young up and comer.... someone who is hungry and possibly has some new ideas.... I think that could be a really good move for us.

San Fran is having as many issues as the Rams filling the oc job
Maybe the idea of playing seattle twice a year isn't so attractive
Iirc their defense is pretty good....

Don't discount the Cardinals, 49ers, and Rams defenses either. By far the toughest defensive division.

Well I was going to suggest that Hackett didn't want to be throttled back by the head coach for a second time. But then someone said he was going to Jacksonville with Marrone. So much for that angle.

I guess Hackett lacks the cahones to take on the job. It will take a good Offensive coordinator to make the Rams offense successful if Bradford doesn't come back healthy, or if the Rams don't renegotiate his contract. It would be a great way for a young OC to make a name for himself.

I think Paul Hackett and Fisher played together at USC
So he was probably just doing his old buddy a favor so his son would land on his feet - which I guess he did in Jacksonville

Good for Nate, have fun getting blamed for wrecking Blake Bortles

Is anybody accounting for the possibility that Ray Sherman might get bumped up too?

Ray Sherman
The Houston Oilers gave Sherman his first NFL coaching job in 1988, when he was hired as a running backs coach. After one more year in Houston, during which he was a wide receivers coach, he took an assistant head coaching position with the Atlanta Falcons in 1990. Sherman then went to the San Francisco 49ers the next season, staying there through 1993; he coached running backs in 1991 and wide receivers the following two seasons. The Minnesota Vikings hired Sherman as quarterbacks coach in 1995, and he spent three seasons with the team. In 1998 and 1999, Sherman served as offensive coordinator of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Vikings, respectively. He was the wide receivers coach of the Green Bay Packers from 2000 to 2004, and held the same position with the Tennessee Titans in 2005 and 2006. The Dallas Cowboys hired him as wide receivers coach in 2007. In January 2010, Sherman was considered for a head coaching position with the Oakland Raiders. In January 2011, Sherman interviewed for the head coaching position of the Dallas Cowboys to satisfy the Rooney Rule, and it was thought that he might be offered the offensive coordinator job with the team. It was announced that Sherman will not return to the Cowboys for the 2011 season.

Am I missing the urgency in hiring an OC? I suppose we probably want him on board before the draft MAYBE. Other than that, I'm missing what the hurry really is. Is there a sure fire OC we missed out on?

So I take it that you're suggesting he couldn't hack it??? Lol

That's the only reason...And probably to scout some QB's is why they want him sooner rather than later....
