Believe me I’m 100% on board especially with all our OL contracts ending this year or next year. We need to get nasty up front.
Carberry had Dalman at Center so I'd be all for him as well in the 3rd.

While we fans haven't seen it, I wouldn't quite call Corbett at Center 'experimental', after all, he's been starting at both LG & RG for the last season and a half, he should have the line calls down by now, and having Stafford behind him should make the job that much easier anyway. As far as Blythe 'beating' the competion at Center last year, you may recall that there was no real pre-season to make many of these important adjustments, & Blythe was only re-signed 1 day before he was set to hit free agency. jmo.
My pessimistic rebuttal:

1. Blythe didn't seem like an "experiment" in 2020 to me because he took over for an injured Allen for the second half of 2019, and by all accounts he was an upgrade. I remember McVay saying "Blythe really settled down the center position", or something like that. So entering 2020, Blythe was a known commodity.
2. Unfortunately it seems that players switching OL positions "sometimes" doesn't work out. Noteboom seems adequate at LT, but sucks at OG. IIRC Blythe was much better at OC than at OG. I recall there was talk of moving Hav to OG one year, but that didn't pan out. My point is... just because Corbett was solid as an OG, that sure doesn't mean he'll transfer seamlessly to OC. And I think it's hard to tell in practice, nothing quite compares to real game experience while the bullets are flying.

As always, hope I'm wrong and whomever the Rams start at OC works out great. Just seems like they're taking a significant risk, regardless. As a fan, I wish they'd sign Austin Reiter as a "backup plan", since he's a known commodity and would probably be a slight upgrade from Blythe in terms of pass pro (slight downgrade in run game).

I think we turn 3 picks into at least 4. I would actually shocked if we don't trade down from 57.

Wasn't Brian Allen hurt and COVID'd up last year, thus really not being an option at center? Not saying he's great at it, but, he didn't really get a shot last season. I really think they like a couple guys they currently have for Center this year. We currently have 11 OL under contract for the year, so, you need to be certain whomever we draft is better then the guys we have. There are definitely a few questionable guys on the list; Brewer, Demby, Shelton. Outside of that, I don't see any guy they are going to cut.

not to be a debbie downer but given the history of rookies playing for the rams under mcvay, and that any of the few players at positions a rookie would start for us were taken last night or will be before the rams pick today,, it is more than reasonable to think that no one selected today or tomorrow will even start this year. The only position may be center with maybe one or 2 other guys having a handful of snaps all season. OK, maybe that's a debbie downer....but not so much if you're smokin something like me.

The Rams are now in a division with 3 scrambling QB’s (Wilson, Murray, &Lance). They need a premier OLB to help take these QB’s down. Therefore, my vote is for OLB with that 57th pick.

I know people have been fawning over Asante Samuel Jr., but if we are keeping the Staley scheme, Elijah Molden is a far superior fit than Samuel. Frankly, Molden is the better player.

I'd be elated with either, sadly, think they are both gone by our pick. Maybe Molden still there, maybe.

@Memento IDk @OldSchool McVay and Snead has a history of dipping into an area us fans think is good to go.

I for one would absolutely love this guy since he’s such a dangerous weapon in multiple ways. We need a Kittle type of TE and not saying he is a clone, but teaming him up with Higbee and our Offense he could make a lasting impact.

That said I think we got OL GC with first pick after trade down for value.
He's kind of a Bavaro type more than a Kittle IMO. Guys bounce off him. I love that but not sure McVay would lol.

If McVay goes TE it will probably be the Miami kid. And I don't like Miami players, I realize that doesn't make a lot of sense but it is what it is.

I'd be pretty damn disappointed if Dalman was our pick at 57th. Actually, pretty damn disappointed won't begin to describe it.

I'm all for Molden as well.
