I've watched all the games Noteboom had started but never focused on his play. I know some of you closely track all is these things. How is he doing?

I haven't watched him closely, but he seems to be doing his job as a pass protector.

Not bad. Pretty good actually. Hopefully he continues to develop and get better.

Was somewhat of a whipping boy earlier this year tho.

Boom had been nothing but stellar in the passing game. Although he hasn't faced any top 5 talent he has shined in pass pro.
His limitations are run blocking. He doesn't have the push youd like from your LT but he's getting better. He straight up bulldozed people in the pats game. Sometimes timing and playtime make a big difference in run blocking. But I'm happy they are gelling

I haven't seen anything concerning overall. Hopefully he continues the next couple games. I'm actually happy to see him get some time. If nothing else it gives him and the coaches some film to review to critique his performance to identify weaknesses

We are fortunate to have him.

Is he under contract for next year?

I don’t see it quite that way. He has plenty of push. His problem has been after first contact is he has had trouble contains his block.Early on he also had a little trouble on snap count.

My biggest problem with Noteboom is he might cost to much to keep.I’ve enjoyed his growth & his technique is getting much better.

Against Arizona a DT/DE was trying to punk him all game.It was Fun seeing Notebooms toughness.Since that game his level(Rams Offensive line) has taking to a Higher Level.

Pass blocking he’s shown solid technique and poise. He can’t hold a guy for that long but almost always slows a guy down initially.

In the run game he’s ok. Knows his assignments and gets the initial push. Still had trouble engaging and sustaining blocks at times. Kroner has him on combo blocks with Edwards which has been real successful. For example the long Akers run vs. Pats was a combo block.

When he gets out on the screens he still has trouble positioning himself correctly for the block.

Overall solid backup for LT, might improve to starter level.

Excellent depth LT. Has trouble staying on blocks but the guy is improving too.

He's already starting. And we haven't heard anything about Noteboom for several weeks now. He is definitely a quality, starting NFL left tackle. We are all set when Whitworth retires. Unfortunately... it may cost them. The Rams might be better off signing him before next season to a reasonable 4 year deal like Havenstein's deal or Whitworth's. JMHO.

And Noteboom might still get better as he's gaining experience and confidence starting at left tackle, for the first time in his career.

Will be interesting with how The Rams handle Notebooms contract. That was more of my concern when Whitworth went down.

The fact he came back so strong after his injury is impressive. Bobby Evans & the rest of the back ups give The Rams excellent depth moving forward.

As a long time Rams fan it’s been years since The Rams had such a deep stable of Lineman.

The Ryan Tucker taking over for Miller shows how you have to be a little proactive keeping players around longer.

Huge fan of how Noteboom's doing. Don't forget, he was coming off of a very nasty injury last year and was cross-training at guard. He's found a home at left tackle, and he's provided immediate insurance when Whitworth went down. And that's not even including Evans, Anchrum, and Brewer (if he ever returns). The number of teams who have that kind of O-line strength and depth can be counted on one hand, and I think that's been our biggest reason why we've succeeded.

He was clearly not a guard. No idea why they tried him there. He’s currently playing at a high level. He doesn’t give up many pressures and keeps getting better as a run blocker. If he stays healthy, we are set at LT for a long time.

Thanks for all the thoughts. It seems if Whit leaves we may be okay and be able to use that money to extend Noteboom.

If the Rams win the SB... does Whitworth call it a career?
I love having him on the team, but honestly I see him doing just that.

Gurantee with his wife he’s expressed this is the closest he’s ever gotten is being on this team, with this personal, with this Coaching staff. That’s why he’s busting ass to come back is to get through the playoffs and win a SB!

you know I’ve been saying this since last season about The Rams future. To say though they are the biggest reason is a over statement. The depth & future shows strength.

If you look at the CB’s & DB’s then I’d say that is the biggest reason.Last year & during the offseason most were saying how good Tyler Rapp was going to be. Fuller from Ohio St. has been the best as far as Rams winning while healthy.
The Rams offense has had problems but the offensive line is taking to another level.I have a theory on that, but still waiting to address it. I keep saying I’m going to post about it,but just posted about other topics, beating around the bush.
