Just Dio! He's so proper and prim in the intro, ha. I believe that I actually saw this concert tour. Although when I saw him the stage was much bigger. He had giant dragon that raised up looked around spit fire, etc. It was a huge stage show and I may have been in an altered state of mind to boot. Good times!

On December 27, 1969, after suffering thru a devastating playoff 23-20 loss to the Vikings, I cried little boy tears. The memory still stings.

In the last Playoff Bowl ever played, a week later our Rams cremated the Dallas Cowboys 31-0! I felt a whole lot better. I was on Cloud Nine again...

During the summer of '77 The Sex Pistol's God Save THE QUEEN shot to number #1. On some charts the #1 spot was left blank, but God Save THE QUEEN sputtered out, short of #1 on the official UK chart used by the BBC. This led to accusations by some that the charts had been "fixed" to prevent the song from reaching number one.

Motley Crue is ok but give me the original of this great tune any day...

Brownsville Station!

Song Facts:

Producer Doug Morris (also the owner of Big Tree Records) hated the song - he refused to release it as a 45 until a Portland, Maine, FM station started to play it off an LP. Afterwards, requests for the song streamed into the record company - it had over 100,000 orders for the single before Morris changed his mind and released it.

Mötley Crüe covered this song in 1985... It was their first US Top 40, hitting #16.

We list the title as it appeared on the album and single: "Boy's Room." This is bad grammar - "Boys' Room" or "Boys Room" would be correct, unless you were indicating a room that belonged to one particular boy.

Like the digitally altered Star Wars releases, this apostrophe has been excised from the title in most listings of the song just like Greedo shoots at Han Solo. The Mötley Crüe version removed the apostrophe - they might be down with sneaking cigarettes at school, but not with misplaced punctuation.

So, If you see a 45 with the old album cover "Boy's" instead of "Boys'", at a garage sale, buy it!
