Hey TSFH, I dug your music trailer music. Yeah, I had to lookup Intermediate Music on Wikipedia. Very interesting. Are you into bands like Therion. I like metal meshed with opera. Oh by the way. What does TSFH stand for? " Two Steps From Hell"

Hi, thanks. This is the first I've heard of Therion and I'm not familiar with that particular fusion. Sorry about that. Gave them a quick listen -- thought they might try Carmina Burana, and after a quick search, found that they did. I like metal, but don't listen to it as nearly as much as I used to.

Yup, TSFH = Two Steps From Hell:

Hey TSFH, What's your connection to soundtrack music? Is that your favorite type of music?

2015 is my year for Obscure but Great Soundtrack Films... I'm streaming Netflick films and DVD's with promising soundtracks. Last night's film was 1969's Venus in Furs. A very groovy jazzy soundtrack. Any recommendations from you TSFH will be appreciated

Hey Dieter the Brock, I really liked My Jerusalem. I'd never heard of them, though like me they are from Texas. My Jerusalem reminded me a little of Peter Murphy.

This song is for you Dieter. Can you figure out why I played it for you Dieter the Brock? Hint- Has nothing to do with the lyrics.

Epic Music is my favorite -- no connection, other than a listener/consumer. I'm definitely not a cinephile, so I can't come up with anything obscure. Best I can do is movies-that-were-not-quite-smashing-successes:
(1) The Mission
(2) The Thin Red Line -- but must include melanesian choirs
--------
I haven't managed to sit though all of these two movies but they seem promising soundtrack wise, not movie wise:
(3) Sunshine -- for Adagio in D Minor
(4) The Island -- for My Name is Lincoln

When I first got a desire to learn how to play guitar, this was during the beginning of the Beatles era, my parents told me they would buy me a guitar and amp but there was one rule; I had to study the records of Wes Montgomery, learn to play like him, and forget all that hippie crap. Good luck with that.

So on came the guitar, the amp, the teaching books, and the Wes Montgomery albums. Never did learn to play too well in that style but have a huge admiration for the man and his style. Wes didn't use a pick but played with his thumb and was known for his of octaves in his solos. Sadly he passed on at 45.
