Man I am Jealous. That sounds like a hell of a show. The work that Beck and Hammer did together on the "Wired" album is brilliant.
Those of us who had the privilege of seeing shows like that though are also as old as the hills.
I was perfectly situated in the SF bay area during the 60's through the 80's and got to see all the great bands and artists that blew into town. Plus as a musician playing in his own bands there was that desire to check everyone out which I did.
One quick story about that Beck/Hammer show. It was outside, at the Stanford Amphitheatre as I recall, and Marino and Neal Schon had done their blazing fast guitar thing. Jeff Beck came out by himself and blasted this one solitary note that hung in the air as if to proclaim "Here I am. I'm the real deal." The crowd went absolutely nuts.
On another note: I love Robin Trower but don't much care for him doing his own singing. Check it out for yourself.
