So I'm here to vent about my work truck. It's a Ford Ranger, decent truck. There are days that it drives me insane. It kept stalling at idle or lights. I have been trouble shooting it for two weeks. I may have accidentally found the culprit. There is a breather off the intake that connects right up against the oil fill cap. It is pinched between two hoses. On my umpteenth check of the intake hoses I noticed it wasn't tight to block. Upon further inspection it has just been resting in place this entire time. WTH!!!!

Further updates will follow with glee (Lea Michelle) or Hatred (see Darth Vader).

I hate to even ask this, but are you sure it doesn't have an auto shutoff feature?? I hate that shit. My wife's car has it and I disable it as soon as I start the car.

Our beamer had that feature too. It had a button right on the dash to easily disable it though and it stayed in the off position whenever I drove it too. My wife used it thinking it probably saved $. That shit on annoyed the shit out of me... the AC and everything else stayed on, but the engine stopped running until you pressed the gas again.

FORD = Found On Road Dead.

This coming from a gal whose dad had a '99 Ford Explorer that lasted decades...but had problems all throughout its life.

Same. The auto start/stop function was killing the battery. So it would shut off but stall when it tried turning back on. Luckily there's a lawsuit in place and the manufacturer replaced the battery. I still turn off the function whenever I drive.

Those start/stop systems end up killing starters and batteries for a miniscule bump in fuel economy in 99% of use cases

Also, it's "Bimmer", but I'll let it slide........

I at least know how to pronounce it. LOL

The wife drove that beauty into a flooded road and killed it. We bought it new and it was like brand new with very low miles and a real M package. I was so pissed at her. We replaced it with a Lexus SUV that has a much less chance of getting flooded out. I told her she'll have to walk if she floods out another vehicle. She almost won't drive in the rain now.

My wife has an RS5 and that thing is a damn go-kart. Stupid car sits so low I have problems getting into and out of it, haha. Hence why I stay pimpin in my Trackhawk. ;-)

Great question. No it does not. I get the part Wednesday morning. After talking with a family friend (life long mechanic), he is sure it's the breather PCV that I ordered as it should be locked into place and not loose like it has been.
