Jared’s helmet mysteriously implodes just before kickoff and Mannion’s helmet suddenly has problems as well. Hmmmmm....

The Saints are allowed to blast music at full tilt while plays are being called. If fans do the deed, fine. But to hand the home team an electronic advantage is a huge disparity of “fair play.”

So.....riddle me this. One or two blown calls vs an entire quarter of unfair competitive advantage...which one is more egregious?

As to the helmets, that isn’t on the Saints, that is on the Rams and the NFL. The Saints have no control over any of that. Don’t you guys remember a case being brought by Dave Barr of ESPN against the Saints a few years back saying that Mickey Loomis was interfering with opponents radio connections only to find that story was false? Has anyone heard from Dave Barr since?

Besides, that has happened to the Saints, and what we all learned is that if the radio in one QBs helmet goes out, the radio in the opposing teams qb’s helmet is turned off as well.

That they don’t have a remedy in place to go back and alter the previous play doesn’t mean it isn’t against the rules. It specifically is. There is a word for it and that word is cheating. Right?
Where is it cheating? That’s called home field advantage.

In the eyes of the general public, the one at the end is more egregious because the outcome can be seen. No one can say if the other calls would take the game on a different path even though it's totally possible.

That was a fan in the stands dressed like Payton but that also call into question fans blowing whistles to simulate the end of a play. That's not cool either.

This is very true, I know it seems petty, but under no circumstances should whistles be allowed in the game.

Simulating a ref's whistle... come on! I saw pics of that so-called "whistle monsta" last night. Dude is a fucking moron. People hate him, there were numerous tweets last night asking for him to stop the whistling, calling for him to get beheaded, asking for him to get escorted out. And several were Saints fans who were not only in the vicinity but were several rows away. How does some idiot get off constantly whislting as loud as he can at an inhumanly high decibel level, annoying everyone and trying to be a distraction? Don't even get me started on fans who try to shout as loud as they can so the opposing team can't hear themselves, what year did sports cross over into that poor sportsmanship nonsense? 1980s?

Anyway love the win over the Saints for many reasons. Another big game where we knocked them out of contention. 1st was in 1983, watched that too. That one non-call was bad, but those dumb refs were screwing us too, they were bad for both sides. And honestly Payton was outcoached. If they would've run the ball instead of called a pass for that incompletetion (stopping the clock at 1:43) we wouldn't be talking about that penalty. Our HC would've done the right thing, killed clock, he's done that all year. He may not be as experienced in longevity, but he knows how to close out close wins.

Yeah, big shocker there.
Would expect this in the Super Bowl as well, zero doubt.
Saints fans, in my experience, are terrible people at least while at the games.
Their hero Brees floated a ball in OT after making an ill advised throw under pressure.....if our DBs could catch he would have had 3 ints.
Hopefully he retires and goes away.
To Saints fans.....enjoy Rapeville this offseason.

The play selection by the Saints on that drive was worse!!! They only forced the Rams to burn 1 timeout which left them plenty of time left after their FG. Rams did what the needed to do which was to march down the field with a timeout in their back pocket and plenty of time!!! Screw them, they chose poorly

Which they didn't earn, thanks to poor officiating in wk 9. What's your assessment of what the score would've been if the Saints' O couldn't communicate yesterday and the Rams' could? How about just at a neutral site? Let us know.

Rams WON this game. They BEAT the Saints. Non-calls happen every game, and even the one on NRC was (in the eyes of the refs on the field) justifiable.

But the crowd whistles were bad. That's just bad sportsmanship on the part of the NO fans. You don't bring whistles to a stadium hoping to trick the opposing team's players to stop playing in the middle of plays. I get da crowd noise. There's crowd noise in EVERY stadium. And I even get the whistles in NO, which are used in Mardi Gras. But using them with the intent to disrupt the play on the field should be called by the refs as "fan interference". It's the same as fans throwing things at players on the field during plays. You just don't, or your team SHOULD be penalized. There's just no justification for it.

Fact of the matter is any team that makes the SB get a few breaks along the way. We got a break on that call for sure. But there were plenty of non calls we didnt get in this game. We are also assuming if the call was made that the Saints would not of fumbled or turned over the ball.

New Orleans had every advantage and I honestly believe artificial noise was being pumped in. Never in my 50 years have I heard a stadium that loud.

Bottom line, 2 great teams played a great game. We lost the toss in OT and were able to get pressure on a Hall of Fame QB and force an interception. It still took a 57 yard FG to win it.

So although a huge play, there was plenty of other football to play that determined the out come.

Refs missed a face mask on the Cooks bomb as well as the Goff scramble. I forget who, but they had a Saint step on his head after a play that could have easily been called. Also, Cooks was being held on that early 3rd down throw to Woods over the middle. In the replay with Goff throwing over Jordan, in the background you can see the CB with a hold of Cooks jersey on a crossing route.
Just a poorly officiated game all around IMO. Rams just made the plays when they had to have them. Those 2 late completions to Higbee by Goff were as good as it gets.

You guys had a chance after week 9 to get homefield advantage (remember, we lost to Dallas).

Your confusion is misguided. Good for you guys you get the Saints at your place next year. Maybe you can round up enough fans to have a homefield advantage?
