:coach:Hey Rodger, your old dog has returned back to the locker room....its time to think about renovating your Rams locker next to Andrew
Now let's keep the good news coming! Rodger & the Rams Org must get to work on a new contract that's good for both Rodger, Andrew, Goff & the Rams Organization. Please make Saffold aware of what he means to this team.
As we know the player who Andrew has to work hand in hand with, was Rodger. To a much lesser degree John who helps make the calls. The kind of success the Rams OL has had the last two seasons does not come around very often. I would think Andrew will be asking about Rodger when he meets with them late next week.
For several seasons this duo relationship (Andrew/Rodger) has been working out better than good. However, for BOTH these all pro's are now starring down @ a break up with every strong chance to lose what they have built together along with the other 3 OL'ers one of the best NFL OL's for two seasons straight (2017/2018). This is a very critical moment for this team. Andrew still playing @ a very high level even if he older than dirt but his time on the field is just about over. I am sure he is not looking forward into breaking in a first-year LG starter next to him @ this time in his career. For us, older guys who have known what it is like @ work to break in a younger 23 yr old new partner to replace a veteran cagy broke in a partner ....well its difficult & no fun:huh:.
Rodger is playing the best he has in his NFL career. Rodger will be the best blindside LG in free agency this season @ only 30 yrs old. IMO the best UFA OG in several years, In addition, he is also the most versatile OL'er in free agency.
Rodger will be in very high demand on the open market. Rodger is in a great position (fully healthy) just fresh off the Big Game to where he can finally cash-in on his NFL career of hard work & success to earn his real worth on the open market to set him & his family up for many decades into the future. Hard to turn down that chance. Rams want him they will have to pay him his worth.
