It's a bunch of accusations that are provably wrong.
Has nothing to do with a narrative.
McVay said explicitly why he really liked Cooks game and based on the the production, he was right.
If McVay truly was a "fall in love" guy, Cooks would still be a Ram.
Worse, the accusation that he's a "fall in love" guy means that he puts his emotions over his evaluations as a professional coach.
We've seen the exact opposite.
Gurley's knee going? Out.
Cooks concussion issue? Out.
Goff regresses? Out.
I can see the criticism that he doesn't give players a chance to ride out the doldrums. I don't agree with it, but I can see that.
But a "fall in love" guy? Not even close.
And he's not a "new toy" guy, either. Circumstances and lack of production preceded each move.
And what is he supposed to do once production decreases and he and Snead are looking at alternatives... look for worse to avoid the "new toy" criticism???
Just makes no sense.

I see this team make personnel moves that surprises the whole league and eat dead cap like it’s grandmas fried chicken. The Rams under McVay and Snead have made some bold trades and cut players that huge were given huge contracts and guaranteed money just a year or two earlier. They loved the player and drove up with a dump truck full of money, but got rid of him when the player didn’t satisfy the coach and GM. Fickle is the word I would use here. Gurley had a known arthritic knee and Cooks had concussions prior to the Rams trading for him. They ignored that because they loved the player.
I believe that Stafford is better than the 2019-20 Goff, but not the 2017-18 Goff. Even with this trade, the Rams still need to improve the offensive line and with what, a second round pick and couple of compensatory third round picks? Role players Snead would call them?
