I think Anchrum is the kind of guy they hoped Boom was. A guy who can come in at multiple positions and hold shit down for you if needed. Where he's different from Boom is his strength. He's a squatty and square MFer but he's got good power and moves well.

The Rams' OL if you were to rank them to 6 is pretty good. Because of Anchrum IMO. Rams would list Boom as their 6th OL but I wouldn't. I see Boom only as primary LT backup. If any other position goes down he's not the guy I'd go with, I'd go with Anchrum. And if it's Center then Corbs slides over and Anchrum goes in at RG.

That's where I sit right now after this first game. If they keep 8 maybe Meredith if he plays the next two games like he did the last or Jackson as a protected development project. But as far as players I'm comfortable with playing week 1 if they had to your 7 is the way I'd go.

Plus you hate to be corrected when wrong. I’m a Noteboom guy so as of right now,who really knows.
IMO there is no way Noteboom is not The Rams starting LT next season & not sure if he doesn’t move over to LG if there was an injury.Then again David Edwards is probably the most promising future Ram on the OLine.

Anchrum as of right now is a back up who has only really played 4 snaps in his NFL career. Still only 24 though.

And I said nothing about LT of the future. I think if Whit misses time Noteboom goes in. But beyond that you have a lot more love for Noteboom than I do. I don't like OL who get pushed around. Even on the edge.

This Offensive Line for 2022 has question marks all over it. In 2021 the back up role will start to get defined in a couple weeks

I honestly don't think anyone is overlooking Brycen. But it's becoming increasingly obvious that Harris has an exceptional skillset, the kind most HC only dream of a TE having. He will be on par with guys like Graham and Kelce IMO.

... I see Harris being the #2 TE this year simply because they can play him out of the slot. His length and speed are a mismatch for any DB or LB they want to put on him. Once he's established as the TE threat he can be, it will allow McVay to play Tutu out of the slot. Facing that kind of speed no defense will match up. Teams might have one CB with that kind of speed but most will be forced to play zone. That will make Stafford's reads simple. Once the ball is snapped he will know immediately what version he's facing and who is likely to be open.

I foresee McVay doubling down on speed at every opportunity, including unexpected formations such as you suggest with Harris and Atwell on the field together.

McVay didn't trade for Stafford just to run last year's stuck in the mud possession offense. McVay is impatient in a good way, he will want it all NOW.

Of course Kupp, Woods, and now Jefferson will rotate for the most overall snaps. They will also be much more effective playing on a stretched field.

McVay will accordingly make every possible use of his new speed players, obviously DJax, but including Harris and Atwell.

As much and as soon as the rookies can handle. In as many different formations and combinations as McVay can think of.

The only way Brycen gets any touches is if Higbee goes down. So….not sure what the guy can do in the moment except show up and practice practice practice, add weight, and learn how to block.

First series X run left cuts back toward opening on right. Hopkins doesn’t block either safety or lb who fills the hole and makes the tackle. He also whiffs on the next level guy he picks to attempt to block. Then walks back to the huddle like it was all no big deal. Next play doesn’t shift properly, gets lined up wrong cause Hodges to burn a TO.

Why is this guy wasting a spot on the roster still????

Next play Hodges should have thrown him the ball but instead dumped it to Atwell who got blasted along the sideline for a 2 yard gain. Hopkins has a good gain the presuming he caught the pass.

he made some important catches and runs in the nfc championship game. in the clutch as well.

that's why i thought he was gonna carry it on into the following seasons. didn't happen.

Gotta agree. I consider Everett to be a miss as a round 2 pick. He's a guy they held on to long enough to where they got some stuff out of him, but he simply didn't develop as a pass catcher.

His catch radius is very small. The guy drops a lot of passes when they aren't perfectly placed. And he can't position himself for or track balls in the air for shit. I'm sure he'll look a little better with Wilson throwing him the ball but he's always gonna be an underneath dump option in the pass game because his only strength is his running ability.

I could have seen Blythe starting the first 8 games and then going with Biadasz in the last 8 games once he learned the pro game.

Seems like the more a guy plays in pre-season for McVay, the lesser importance he has.
Although after Hopkins terrible game 1, his absence will be equally telling

At this point Higbee, Mundt, and Harris all seem locks to make the roster. Really doubt we keep 4 TEs so my guess is we try to stash Hopkins on the PS or cut him. Everything out of camp has been hyping Harris, and if you just watch the first preseason game Harris looked night and day better than Hopkins who looked lost at times. Mundt seems like a lock on this roster due to his blocking, and I think he might even be a better pass catcher right now than Hopkins. Can't be too mad at a 4th round pick not panning out, but I think Harris is going to surprise a lot of people this year with how much playing time he gets. I bet we feature him in the redzone a lot.
