If you want to look at it today, the Rams won the Superbowl. Period. That is what they play for. That is what we fans want.

It could change in the next few years. Detroit got a better than average quarterback. And some good young talent in the picks. So if they want to claim they won the trade, its fine.

Because it depends on individual perspective. Some fans want a championship and its worth it no matter how bad things get afterwards. Others would rather see steady winning for every year than one championship followed by several losing years. I think at this point Detroit fans would take that considering what they've endured for many years.

Me, I'll take that championship. As the years go by and I'm looking for Rams memorabilia, its nice to know I can buy one that says world champs. For now Detroit fans don't have that option.

The Rams won that trade as soon as it was agreed on. A proven player of Stafford’s caliber is worth a boatload of picks. A QB of Stafford’s caliber is worth more.

On top of that, they got out of Goff’s bad contract. He was never going to work out after the rift with McVay.

I got a Super Bowl win to celebrate so I don't give two fucks. Or even one for that matter.

The Lions turned those picks into trades that resulted in:

Traded with up from 32 with the Vikings for #s 12 and 46

Ifeti Melifonwu (Rams 3rd )- looking like a bust
Jameson Williams (Vikings 1st)-looking like a bust
Josh Pascal (Vikings 2nd) - played ten games as a rookie

They traded #6 back to Arizona for 12, 34, 168. They turned them into

Jamyr Gibbs - considering RB value it may not be wise.
Sam Laporte- tbd

168 was traded to the Cardinals and they got 92:

Broderick Martin-tbd

It seems like their 2023 haul has more potential to pan out so imo Gibbs, Laporta, Martin and Goff.

Assuming they pan out. If the Rams had to trade Goff and his contract along with a great RB in Gibbs ( that they’d never resign) a pass catching TE in Laporta and a starting DT in Martin, they’d do it in a heartbeat. Stafford is worth much more than that.

Ooooophf... that's pretty photoshopped.

But maybe she needs it, she's kinda mid... just like Margot Robbie.
So unless every photo of her has been photoshopped thats how she looks. And to each his own but you’d either be alone or in a pretty empty room with those on this forum who don’t consider MarGOT Robbie and ChrisTEN Harper pretty hot.

I think... maybe... read the thread?

Edit: Though in your defense, I can see how people on here say really outlandish things and they're not joking. I just have an allergy to explaining sarcasm with blue fonts or anything else for that matter!

Edit edit: Though I would still argue that photo is photoshopped to death.

We technically won because we got the ultimate prize. The trade did help Jumpstart a the a rebuild tho, so it worked out for everyone.

So who is Margot Robbie? Isn't she the wife of former Dolphins owner, Joe Robbie?
Mebbe I'm thinking of a different Margot...

there was nothing wrong with goff's contract. the lions are doing fine with it. that was the dumbest thing about the whole trade talk back then. the rams, or mcvay, wanted a qb who he didn't have to teach anymore. and they got him.

6 and 10
3 and 12 - 1
5 and 11

trade

3 and 13 - 1
9 and 8

the lions are moving in the right direction for a change. the fan base is actually excited about their future. the trade was perfect for them. they'd do it in a heartbeat again.

it goes without saying the rams would do the trade again in a heartbeat as well. they won the superbowl and stafford put in the best performance by a qb in a playoff run i've ever seen.

both teams got exactly what they wanted from the trade.

I feel like ask this question here is like walking into a comic book store and asking who would win a fight between Batman and Boba Fett.

Where would they be without the trade? I doubt they would have finished 9-8. Not to mention, as I mentioned, there is a longer term view. Some of the players they got from the picks are just rookies, and others were rookies last year.

I'll repeat - we got our win from the trade in the short term. Their win from trade will be longer term.

And I'll add - nobody should feel threatened that it's a win-win and that it might work out for the Lions over the longer haul. We both got what we wanted from the trade.

They've gotten very little value from the picks we've traded them. It's not feeling threatened - it's just being confused. They solidified their OL and that would have happened even if they didn't make the trade, so I feel like even without the trade they'd be exactly where they are

Some of those picks haven't even played a down in the NFL yet, others were rookies last year still getting their feet wet. Unless you know how their career is going to go then your assessment is a bit premature.

I can only imagine the shit Les Snead would've taken if they traded up for a guy that played a couple games his rookie year, get suspended, get hurt again in camp, and misses a ton of additional time.

This could be true. For us its "Championship or bust". For Detroit its "Just have a winning season for once". Both were achieved.

Long term the Lions are better off for doing the trade. Stafford will be retired and Goff will still be a solid starter.
Short term the Rams won the trade. We don't win it all with Goff as our QB.
So both teams won.

That is true but I'd trade 2 first rounders to win a Lombardi every two years if that's what it takes.
