I edited my entry, to further state my case for Hekker. Maybe go back and reconsider, fellers. :sneaky:

I don't feel Hekker is underrated at all... even Bill Belecheat game planned for him

Mark Barron - some folks wanted him cut or traded even before Wade took over - viewed him as a "tweener" - too small for a linebacker in a 4-3, let alone a 3-4 alignment. Wade's no fool, and Barron's a starter for him.

Most underrated player? That's a tough one. There isn't a player named so far in this thread that isn't deserving of consideration ..

Hekker.

It can never be overstated what his field positioning does for this team. The way his locker room presence keeps a relaxed attitude on the team.

Oh, and then there's this....

 oh crap. This is going to be a totally unproductive day. I keep watching this...:rolllaugh:

Ok, by definition - Hekker is deserving of more credit than he gets.

I agree, he does get proper accolades. My only point with Hekker is- that he is so good, that even WE don't appreciate how much of a difference he makes in our success.

I think the picks of Brockers, Saffold, Woods are great picks too.

If anyone has any other candidates, post them and I will create a poll with all of these names and maybe we can determine which player is RODs most underrated Ram today.

I go Saffold. graded a little higher than Whitworth. Saffold's injury history put him behind the eight ball a bit with Ram fans and he doesn't get any national attention. I was hoping Rams would resign him this season. that was before the sky rocketing free agent money thrown around this year and the Rams new signings. They could really miss him when he is gone. I don't see the Rams have the cap space to keep him.

https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-top-25-offensive-linemen-of-the-2017-nfl-season
15. RODGER SAFFOLD, G, LOS ANGELES RAMS – 84.2 OVERALL GRADE
PFF Elite Stat: Saffold has given up just one sack all season, across 445 snaps in pass protection.

After a tough start to the season, Rodger Saffold has been a force for the Rams in their run this season. On the year, he has given up just one sack, and 18 total pressures, but his most dominant aspect of play has been run blocking. Saffold’s brute strength is impressive and his ability to make blocks on the move has led to some highlight reel plays in opening space for Todd Gurley to exploit for big gains.

16. ANDREW WHITWORTH, T, LOS ANGELES RAMS – 83.6 OVERALL GRADE
PFF Elite Stat: Whitworth has allowed just 21 pressures this year, across 443 pass blocking snaps.

He may be 36-years old, but Andrew Whitworth remains one of the best tackles in the game, and has done so outside of the protection of the Cincinnati offensive scheme which has been one of the easier to block within for the past several seasons. Whitworth has represented a monstrous upgrade over what the Rams have had at left tackle over the past few years. Whitworth has surrendered 21 total pressures on the season, and has positive grades in every facet of play PFF measures.

Hi....new poster from The Great White North.

I would nominate Robert Woods. Not only did we pick him up cheap from the Bills, but he is a clutch performer for us when the game is on the line.
To wit....in our 26-13 Playoff loss to the Falcons in January, guess who had 9 catches on 14 targets for 142 yards sportsfans??? Robert LostInTheWoodwork Woods....that's who!! Robert Woods showed me in that Falcon game that there is alot of fight in that dawg!!!:yess:

This ex-USC Trojan came back to his SoCal home.....and payed great football for Los Ramos last year IMHO!!

I'll go with Brock. He was the first of Fisher's key defenders to buy in to Wade and his system and had a great season but has been overshadowed by AD.

It's no coincidence that our run defense was non-existent as soon as he went out of that playoff game, too.

Coleman - is that you? If it is, it's about goddamn time - told you about ROD 4 years ago! :rolllaugh:

(Y'all (unless you came from RRF), are really going to enjoy this guy - funny, opinionated and (usually) knows what he's talking about). Unlike me.

Yes, we keep in touch frequently by phone calls and email. He got married, has two little boys, and is way too overwhelmed with work and life to join up here. For those who never posted with him, here is what you would have seen in every post.

My number one as stated before is Roger Saffold.

I wonder just how good Lamarcus Joyner is.

I would really like to see game film (all 22)on him every down during some games. PFF has him as #3 Elite SS 90.3 rating. I know that most fans outside of Rams fans don't even know Joyner. I might have just change my mind. Joyner hits hard, covers a lot of ground while making plays in both the run and pass.

You got that half right ...

his "pie in the face" memes were given out about once a day on RRF. And I take pride in being the guy to give him a real pie in the face when he visited St. Louis. He prolly should have decked me for it, but he took it with class.

Next time you chat with him, ask him if he still has that awesome classic Trans Am, and tell him I said "Cheers!".
