White Castle Sliders

  • Wonderful tidbit of beefy joy

  • Disgusting thing resembling food that I only eat when hammered

  • Couldn't hold a candle to a Lemon Jelly Filled Donut

  • Rat Burger unfit for human consumption

  • Need more room in the booth for my fat ass

  • Give me a Crave Case to go

  • I'm too young to remember the Wendy's old lady

@Selassie I you still have the CheeburgerCheeburger chain down there. I remember when my mom first moved to Naples there were a few around. Don't see them anymore in that area.

Talk about a shitburger

Of course you were... comparing In-and-out to WC is like comparing a fully loaded Lexus to a stripped down Corolla.

But, like that stripped down Corolla you had when you were a kid, if you had WCs growing up, there's a real connection.

Don't know too many kids who had fully loaded Lexus's growing up.
Nailed it

On a side note, WC was THE only 24 hour fast food joint when I was a kid. Crazy to think the lengths we'd travel in a <cough> altered state to get some WC

I've never even heard of that... so I guess not. LOL

Maybe @LesBaker has seen them down in Naples.

Arby's is fantastic

Absolutely right Memento. A to the men.

I ate at a White Castle once. I am not a 100% certain but I think that they use compressed cowflops as the patties. Who bases their entire restaurant chain on a Slider and names it White Castle. Whoever came up with that either wasn't really serious at the time or they were smashed.

Lived in Illinois for a couple of years three doors down from a White Castle. I went there a couple of times a week. Their burgers were damn good. I'm sure just like everything else they have degraded over time. Remember the original McD's french fries. My mom would send me to McD's just to get a brown paper bag full of fries. I would eat about a third of the bag on the way home. Their fries aren't as good as back then.
McDonald's used to add lard to the fryer oil to fry their fries. They quit doing that and that's why they don't taste as good! Rather eat White Castles crinkle cut fries anyway!

That's actually why I'm thinking about doing that. Sorry - but if your idea of health food is going out for burgers and fries, no kind of oil is going to save you from yourself.

Awful crap. Jack in the Box, Sonic, and Burger King are also awful crap. McDonald's is awful crap as well, but at least it has the fries. Lion's Choice is worse than all of them; I've seen their roast beef so raw that it was still bloody.

Steak 'n Shake is awesome. That's where I go every time I want a burger and fries. I'd go to Red Robin more often, but they're expensive as freak. But they have the best fast food burger, in my honest opinion. Arby's is fantastic, and I will forever love their potato cakes.
I do like Arby's. Dig the horseradish and Arby's sauce on there roast beef.

Their Turkey is the read deal as well. Real turkey. Not some tastless, processed meat log.

I thought McD also added some sort of beef flavored seasoning to their fries.

When I was a kid, we had a cat that would go absolutely ape shit over McD fries. He would whine and growl just from the smell of them. Wouldn't stop until we gave him some.

Yeah, they got in trouble or sued or something from a vegetarian group for adding the beef flavor to the fries.
No White Castle where I live or grew up, have never had it.
I try to hit the local burger joints rather than the fast food chains if I want a burger.
Where I grew up (SLO, Ca) there were two great places. Scrubby N Lyoids was the best. Little tiny place that sat about 10 people and had a walk up window. Bishop Burger was great when I was in high school, probably ate there 4 times a week.
Back in my day....

They do taste great, get me a crave case to go ... for the family guys ... come on cut me some slack. And can you believe that, at least on Olive, they have a special parking space reserved for those of us shameless enough to order a crave case?

But later on man ... all I can say is thankfully my wife likes them also otherwise I'd be making arrangements for the couch.

And I'm too freakin old to blame it on being hammered because I just don't find myself able to drink much of anything anymore unless it's something like an Irish coffee for the stimulant, so it's just all on me.

Never had White Castle, but I've had the equivalent.

Krystal.

I don't eat that kind of food anymore, but I'm not gonna lie and say I didn't like it back in the day. It was, from what I remember, phenomenal. There's nothing like being hammered and scarfing down a half dozen burgers for your second round of drinking. And if it wasn't Krystal, it was Taco Bell. Either way, being young and drunk automatically disqualified you from being a food connoisseur. You were just in it for the cheap greasy shit that soaked up all the beer you had just ingested.

Steak n Shake in St Pete here in Florida is where I got Mono. I knew something was off because the coffee cups and silverware were filthy so we sent them back. We go new cups and utensils, bug not much better and I chalked it up to dishwasher "film" as if that's a thing. They'd just come out of the dishwasher, but clearly it was malfunctioning.

So, yeah, I'm over just about all fast food. Five Guys and Fatburger will usually do and our local Wendy's only because we know or can track down the people if the give us something...lol.

I haven't eaten at Arby's in quite awhile, but part of me wants to buy a Reuben there just because I love how classy they stayed all those years Jon Stewart slapped the crap out of them with some of the funniest fast food smak ever.

I went to white castles once, it was late nothing else was open and I was starving and I couldn't eat it. The #1 most disgusting burger I've ever not eaten. In-n-out and Carl's Jr. are where I go here in So Cal.

I've never had White Castle. I don't think we have any down here in So Cal.

I've seen them in the freezer section at the store but have refrained from purchasing them, knowing damn well that there going to taste like a mirowave hamburger. I don't have a microwave any way.

I do have a deep curiosity to try them though, at least to try to understand the cult following they have.

I completely get those stating that they grew up with them. There are some smells and taste that just bring happiness from the past.
Much like Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. Love the stuff. Even more than anything homemade for some reason. For some reason my mind tells me that mac and cheese is suppose to taste a certain way.

seems to be a love or hate relationship. my thoughts: make sure ya get some onyuns on'em so yer sh*t smells perty.

For the record - I LOVE onions. Just sayin'

i bet you start hating onions after a bout with those babies. just sayin.
honestly, i'd rather rebreak 5 bones in my 2 right fingers and have them reset without novacaine than eat anything from that place. but thats just me.
