It was nearly ten years ago, May 1, 2015, when Rams running back Zac Stacy infamously tweeted "Yikes", in response to the Rams selecting Todd Gurley #10 overall in the NFL draft. As he rightly anticipated it spelled the end to his career with the Rams, and after a brief stint with the Jets, the end of his NFL career as well.

I remember the year before when the Rams selected Aaron Donald thinking, "We don't need interior D-lineman. We are set! with Brockers and Langford." Boy, good thing I wasn't in charge of the Rams draft. (Plus who wasn't excited about Jermelle Cudjo?)

As the Rams head into tonight's draft, surely some player on the team will receive a strong, and maybe surprise message that the Ram BrainTrust is looking to upgrade the position they were hoping to hold on this year's Rams roster. Maybe a starter. Maybe a key backup.

Who will be tweeting "yikes" tonight?

Weigh in on the poll question, and let us all know in the comments.

Honestly? I could see anyone but A-Jax, but the most likely is Parkinson. Not only is he blocked by Higbee, but we could trade up for Warren (a big pipe dream, but it's a possibility if they like him as much as Bowers) or select one of Loveland, Fannin, Taylor, or Arroyo and make him obsolete.

But as far as being classless enough to tweet "Yikes!"? Kendrick or Cephus, easily.

I'm thinking maybe D Will. but an outside possibility....I would not be shocked if the Rams drafted a stud edge Rusher and signaled that Byron Young is a nice player, but they want to take that line next level.

I think Kyren's gonna be irritated. Not that I expect a RB up top or anything, but there's just so many good RB options in this draft and let's face it Kyren's a pending FA who has a fumble problem... So I'll be surprised if we don't add at least a good rotation element RB.

I could even see a scenario in which he is traded to someone like the Steelers today or tomorrow. If the Rams brass and Kyrens team are far apart on an extension, a trade may be a possibility. Particularly if some of these mocks released this morning linking us to Hampton has any truth to it.

Steve Avila, Puka, and Alaric Jackson are probably the most active on social media but I don’t see them worrying about there jobs. They might do that in behalf of another position.

Certainly possible and would not be a surprise. Though the thought of a RB being traded to the Steelers triggers the hell out of me. :laugh3:

If they are far away from an extension, it could ve one of the reasons why they are looking at Hampton. Maybe they move Williams for a 5th this yr and a 5th or 6th next yr. I don't see them getting a lot for him in a deep RB draft.

Maybe Dallas would want him? Would have to be a team feeling they can make the playoffs this year.

What could make sense, trade 26 & Kyren Williams to Denver at 20 and then take Hampton. Maybe you get an additional late pick or a swap of a 5th & a 6th.

All these trade scenarios for Kyren Williams make great sense.
For the Rams...
Doesnt make sense for any of the teams to trade for him though
They draft Hampton it would be a lethal combo, or if a team loses their RB to injury in TC, KW becomes a great trade candidate.
Makes no sense to trade for a guy on the last year of his deal at a position as deep as it is in this draft

It would be borderline negligence to not come out of this draft with a TE, RB, and DT, as those positions are stacked with talent. As to anyone freaking out on Twitter? Doubt it with this team.
