Good points all.

However, that was 9 years ago. How much longer do you think McVay will coach? Is he willing to invest in the learning curve of 2 years or so before considering a Super Bowl run?
He was in the SB in his 2nd year with Goff, playoffs in their first year together. What learning curve?

McVay looks like he is loving life right now. He has Stafford for two more years, but needs an heir apparent. I’m confident he’ll get a Super Bowl in the next two years with Stafford. I’m also confident that won’t be enough so I believe he goes until he gets the third Super Bowl or until he turns 45 and reflects on his next chapter in life.

He's the 4th youngest Head Coach in the NFL at 39. He aint going anywhere

Do you figure him to take a rookie qb to the Super Bowl and win? If not, then we're talking about 2 years minimum. Will McVay coach that long? Honest question.

Especially if the Rams win the Super Bowl this year.

I hope you're right. But remember thet last Super Bowl victory; it had everyone pondering retirement while on top.

Will Stafford want more? Will McVay be ready to start over if Stafford retires?

You think whoever replaces Stafford is required to win the SB in their first year?
Of course not

#11 (from the Falcons): Cade Klubnik QB
#27 Caleb Lomu OT

I totally agree!
Snead has made comments about developing a young QB as well.
Getting that 5 year contract for a 1st round pick is much easier on the salary cap when extending out the current young stars
I'll always wonder what the Rams would have done had Dart been on the board. Alas, all the debate in the world wont change what the Rams ultimately decide to do
I know we disagreed on Dart during the run up to the draft but I'm really intrigued to see what he will show this year (I'm assuming he has to start at some point) and next given the makeup of the Giants and coming from his college system.

Super intriguing storyline no matter what happens.

Honestly, if Drake Maye is a legitimate option, he'd be my first choice. But if we had to go through the 2026 draft, LaNorris Sellers would be my choice. I don't trust Nussmeier or Allar, I'll be honest; they're way too inconsistent game-to-game, throw-to-throw.
No way Patriots are giving up on Maye. I'd make that trade in a heartbeat.

I saw Maye in person last year vs Rams. He’s got talent as an NFL QB. The most impressive thing I saw is he was giving 110% which made the game much closer than it should have been. Kupp and Puka destroyed that secondary.
Yeah I really liked Maye coming out of college. With his prototypical size, the fact that he played from the pocket, and had the speed to scramble too really made me like him as a prospect. I think he's a legit young QB with a super bright future.

After seeing him throw yet ANOTHER interception in the end zone…
When he first came out, I thought he would be good. He just needed to work on the turnovers, especially in the end zone. I chalked it up to being a rookie/young QB. Several seasons later and he’s still doing it too often. Those are points he’s giving away.

Nah, you’re right. He is who he is at this point.

Sort of FUNNY!! You talk about QB’s
and there careers.I’ve always been a big Fan of having a QB like Lawrence.I’m not a Fan,but if dude cut his hair & worried more about The NFL & what that means to him.I slate that up to maturity & moving on in Life!!

BTW- that’s just me being Oldschool. The Veteran QB is more of what I’m getting at,more than just some ROOKIE trying to make it in The NFL.

There are those Franchise QB’s that get draft. Most Far & Few in between.Payton was like 0-16 with Marshall Faulk ? Close enough just to add memories.

I like The Rams QB room as we know it.Finding that QB well is what it is.We can look at The NFL NOW.The Rams had Baker Mayfield. The SeaChickens might have found an answer at QB for the next 6-10 seasons ?

-Mac Jones vs Jimmy G ? I don’t know the answer for sure, but I do believe in Veteran QB’s and Sean Mcvay getting ONE he Believes in is more important than anything else. I’m NOT going to over think it.

The Last thing I want is The Rams to go all in on a ROOKIE BUST who sets this RAMS FRANCHISE back 3 to 4 seasons.

I’ll always stick by that the trade to Draft Jared Goff was a lot.Locking a QB up for 5 years!!

Anyway - I’ll stick to my beliefs.I do need to add since is this post.

Mcvay gave up on GOFF- he put Wolford in a Playoff game instead. At The END of the season Les Snead basically said Jared Goff is not The Rams starting QB anymore. The price to get Stafford was as expensive as Jared Goff. The Rams really where all in,and there were NO Guarantees!!
This has played out nicely & The Rams at The QB position is S good as ANY NFL TEAM (then again ?),but I can’t think of THE RAMS being more COMPLETE in My LIFE TIME at QB in 2025.

Let’s see what happens FIRST before turning The Page!!
Go Rams !!

Going to watch Fernando Mendoza today as Indiana takes on a very good Illinois team and their defense. Have to give Illini Head Coach Brett Bielema credit, he has made Illinois viable again and because of location and history, I did not think that was possible. Although Brett needs to cut down on the cheeseburgers.

I'm not disputing anything you put up, just simply posting their stats for more depth. My only comment is Lawrence hasn't been too shabby stat wise but too may INTs. Not many Staffords out there. Would be curious to see McVay coach Lawrence, could see his play elevate a bit. With that said, got to enjoy greats like Stafford, they don't come around often.

Couldn’t have said it better myself .especially from you El Chapo

We are blessed as Rams Fans to have a QB that cares SO much.IMO he is giving up golf for the mean time to finish his career. Not sure if there is any mention of that Covin got cut who was rumored to be a pretty good golfer.I know I’m off subject a little bit,but the thought of losing him scared everybody.

What some forget & as we reflect back on his career. He is a TOUGH SOB!! The hits he has taken over his career. He has always been a pocket passer. When he doved into the endzone against Dallas a few years back I was SO pissed at Mcvay for that freaking play call. His hand was already messed up.He kept Bobby Evan’s in for a few games to just get BEAT UP!!
You ask him how high & he’ll give you everything he has.He isn’t afraid of some Bad AZZ Mofo’saround the league.

Anyways still think Jimmy G is solid, and The Rams played there cards right.I like the fact they got Limmer pulled from LG.He is a Center & at best maybe a NFL RG imo.I think we can all agree Dedrich has been solid at LG including last year as a UDRFA undersized Swing(G-C).

It’s all about 2025 & getting him into The HOF first ballet maybe,or a least in which his body of work continues as he just passed for over 60,000 total yards.

You could say his waist has gone way past the Mendoza line.

Luke Altmyer might be the better QB than Albert Mendoza! Have seen both teams play this year.

Tough call but Altmyer had a tough time against Dukes defense. There is this 1 OLB/DE who had a couple sacks plus what other damage he did.Especially early at home.Altmyer seemed a little cocky at first & missed a couple throws.Once he settled in he did well.Fernando ,Alberto who knows who will be the better college QB.Fernando has NFL height.

I wouldn’t think the Mendoza brothers are any killers.

ODU is better than I thought, they made me pay last week for doubting them.Still whoever they played is overrated.

Fernando though has inflated numbers & looked lost his first game throwing ZERO TD’s at home
against ODU.

Should be a fun game to watch, each week is new week &there should be no excuses either side. Altmyer is battled tested & is a big game for him to prove he might be a NFL type QB.

The kid from DUKE might be a first rd pick.He has been the Best DE/OLB that stood out to me as such.

Klubnik has been terrible this year, looks similar today. He is not a 1st round QB ATM

Fuck no on Klubnik.

Fuck YES on Lomu.

This is coming from a guy who has INSISTED that 2026 (and possible more future) Draft Capital MUST go towards getting our next Franchise Quarterback of the future. Now, not only is Clubnik OFF the board, LOTS of these guys are off the board. Stafford 2-3 year extension is ON the table.
