It’s not easily done, but it’s not impossible either.McVay got to a SB with Goff in their second year together
I dont see any reason why he wouldnt want a QB for the next 10-15 years instead of starting over every 3-4 years

Not likely but it is possible Cincy puts him on the market, depending on where their draft pick ends up. You just never know with stupid owners.Burrows injured again. I don't know if I want him anymore.
Of course, there are always the Drew Brees outliers but how often do they come aroundNot likely but it is possible Cincy puts him on the market, depending on where their draft pick ends up. You just never know with stupid owners.
But yeah I'd rather have a fresh young QB that McVay covets in the draft. Then try to get things sorted with Stafford for the 2026 season and you're in great shape with the vet and the kid QB cooking on the depth chart.
I have a feeling this will be Stafford's last season with us, but he looks hungry in the first two games so if he puts up a high end season the Rams will probably be looking to make things work. Long way to go on all this but the key is adding a good young talent to the mix.
Also nothing against Bennett in that regard. But as much as I like Bennett he's probably a QB2 at this level. If he has a role going forward it would be as our backup, and if Stafford were to retire or move on then they may let him compete with a bridge option for that role. But he's unlikely to be a long term QB1 type answer. Note that I'm not ruling that out, as there are always outliers on this shit. But generally the small guys like him aren't gonna be able to hold that role down for an elite franchise.
I was talking with a buddy about him yesterday....such talent to be made of porcelain. Sam fuckin Bradford Jr over thereBurrows injured again. I don't know if I want him anymore.
But as of now, I see no QB worth a 1st round pick. It’s a bunch of flawed 3rd - 5th round guys.Drafting any QB, for that matter drafting any player, is a crapshoot.
But there is still a huge difference between the 1st and 2nd round. The success rate of QBs from round 1 to round 2 is ginormous.
Additionally, there's a huge difference between picks 1-15 and 16-32. And there's a huge difference between 1-5 and 6-10.
Bottom line: if the Rams need a QB you don't wait until the 2nd round.
After seeing him throw yet ANOTHER interception in the end zone…I’m a big NO on Lawrence.
I think he is what he is at this point.
I recall fans from all over the NFL who said the same thing about Stafford.I’m a big NO on Lawrence.

Its a couple of componentsI thought the owner had to hold the guaranteed money in essentially a trust. Then the player would receive those guaranteed moneys over a structured period whether he’s on the team or not. My understanding was that the player didn’t receive all guaranteed funds in a lump payoff. In essence, it’s almost the same thing for the owner as he has to have that money on hand or available specifically to pay that contract. That is the reason I have heard that owners with more limited funds don’t like big guarantees.
Lawrence hasn’t had anything close to the success that Stafford had in his early careerI recall fans from all over the NFL who said the same thing about Stafford.
Has he been on a 2nd team? Its a couple of components
1) Dead Money- typically the biggest hurdle in moving players, the dead money is monies previously paid out to a player in the form of bonus that is being written off over the length of the contract however was already out of the owners bank account and in the players
2) guaranteed money- typically guaranteed deals need the money held in escrow however in cases like Burrow, the latter stages of his deal arent fully guaranteed at signing and arent escrowed until provisions are hit
So basically, when his contract reaches a point of being "tradable" the dead money hit is workable, and the remaining guarantees are almost expended. So it doesnt save the owner any money, they eat the dead cap (their own $$) and still spend to the remaining cap level
If Burrow was going to be traded, it would cost the owner money, so it would have to be worth it to them in other ways.
Lawrence hasn’t had anything close to the success that Stafford had in his early career
Huh?Has he been on a 2nd team?
and yet it was still said. Fans are always the best.Huh?
Stafford thru for 5k yards and 41 TD in his 3rd season, Lawrence hasnt been anything close to that
Maybe he just needs some Cali sun and a real franchise that isn't cheapI was talking with a buddy about him yesterday....such talent to be made of porcelain. Sam fuckin Bradford Jr over there
