Btw re: Sellers that game today he had zero confidence. Really struggled. Maybe I'm wrong about teams putting him up high given his upside, but I keep remembering them going apeshit for Richardson and thinking to myself that someone slipped me some crazy pills.
He's up and down. A better passer than Richardson at this stage, but he was not on his game in the second half today. Of course, part of it was the fact that SC's OL couldn't block three-man rushes. Embarrassing upfront. But Sellers also needs to learn to climb the pocket instead of bailing out the back. And he needs to throw it away when the play isn't there.

Two guys i really like after watching so m any games of QBs is Coogan the center for Illinois and the kid from Oregon.
Do you mean Pat Coogan? Think he's on Indiana.

Is the Oregon kid Iapani Laloulu?
Love the name but his first name should be Louis ... Lou La-Lou-Lu!
Even if he gave-up a sack, it would be difficult to be angry.

I might be in the minority but I would love for this team to have a quality rookie QB sit and learn for a season.
Yeah, as of now, if Stafford stays healthy this yr, I see McVay toy shopping with their first pick. Tate, Tyson, Bell, or Lemon. Then maybe you take one of these under the radar QBs late in rd 1 or in rds 2 or 3. Also, go get a C and or OT.

Add weapons and protection, and Stafford could give you two more really good years.
With two 1rst rounders, and I believe their 2nd and 3rd rounders too, I don’t see why the Rams can’t do both.

Snead and company can maneuver and propagate those prime picks into enough opportunity to draft a young QB to sit a year AND get a prime weapon for both Stafford AND his protégé. Moving up and down with those two 1rst rounders could generate a couple more picks.

There’s going to be some contracts expiring so the Rams also have to be realistic in that they simply won’t be able to re-sign everyone while trying to fill every need. This defense has true stars and aging CBs. The WR corps is looking at an aging Adams and a balls-to-the-walls superstar in Nacua who cannot play an entire season unscathed.

I was all for a starting caliber LT going into last year’s draft, but that included the possibility of re-signing AJ. They did. LT is no longer a priority, IMO; however, based on what I’ve seen over the last year and a half, IOL is. Avila is coming up on a contract and there’s the ever present need at Center that seems to frustrate us all.

WR, QB, Center, CB.
Why can’t the Rams draft all of these before day 3?
Make it happen Snead.

I am also thinking McClendon could be the future at RT, so maybe you only need a mid rd OT to be a back up and a developmental guy.

So they could focus on WR, QB, CB, & C.

When I say get a toy, I mean target a really special skill player. The kind you get in the top 15.

Yeah those are the two I find myself with both those schools having a good team mixing them up since I don't root for either. I really like Laloulu the most but Coogan is going to be good too.

Carson Beck Throws His OC Under the Bus.

There. This article is why I want Carson Beck the least out of every one of the potentially-sucky mid-round quarterbacks (Allar included). Completely immature response, but then again, he was known for throwing people under the bus when he had poor games at Georgia. The guy has thrown his receivers under the bus before, and now it's his offensive coordinator. It's everyone's fault but his.

"They ran the same thing the whole time. I just execute the play that's called."

Really, Carson. It's your fucking job to execute the plays, go through your progressions, hell, maybe even show initiative and consult your OC about the playcall and what he's seeing from the defense on the next drive!

I'm now at the point where i am giving Matthew 3 for 150 and am not Drafting a Quarterback in '26.

Putting those 2 picks into Offensive Line Reinforcement. If he is PROTECTED he is ELITE.

Take 3 more kicks at the can w Stafford, Puka, Davante, Kyren, Ferguson and that Defense and others.

Can't believe I'm saying this holding those two 1st Rounders with a 37 year old QB but........

The way Stafford is playing, what you suggest makes sense right now. But there is a long way to go this season, not to mention the playoffs which will be grueling with this OL. And when you are in those twilight QB years the end can come suddenly and unexpectedly.

So in combination if Stafford runs us to a title, and if the draft falls in such a way that a LT is there for us, and if that LT is the best player on the board, then take him. And same goes for other positions. If a top CB or Edge is there take him.

Center we can get round 2/3. That's the wheelhouse for those boys.

Now some may say we don't need LT, we have Jackson. But Jackson can move inside to LG if you get a stud LT. Or the kid LT can sit the bench year one or be your swing OT or start at RT or whatever else. LT is so damn hard to find that if one is there and we take him I'm good with it.

But if all that happens and the Rams take a QB I am good with that as well. Because having a kid behind Stafford learning from him, soaking up his approach and how a pro does that job, would be immensely valuable.

Of course. Great post Merlin. I would also be fine with a 1st Round QB, just kinda thinkin out loud in astonishment at MS.

All the money in the world doesnt change his age
There's a reason he's been year to year on contracts
A first round QB on the roster costs little $$ in their first 3-4 years
Getting to sit behind Stafford for a couple seasons is priceless

Honestly wouldn't mind trading Jimmy G for the right price; it's not like he's getting time behind Stafford. That would give us another potential high pick (high-to-mid second, maybe?) to play with.

As far as O-line goes, there's three guys (we're not getting Fano, Lomu, or Mauigoa; they've become top ten picks - and I don't like Proctor from Alabama) I really love. Cayden Green is the obvious one because I've been consistently hyping him, but Gennings Dunker and Trevor Goosby have my interest seriously piqued.

Dunker (OT/OG, Iowa) is someone we'd love on the O-line. We'll see how his arm length and height measures, but he's a bulldozer with intelligence and technique for days.

Goosby (OT, Texas) is someone I really love. He's super young (redshirt sophomore who won't turn twenty-one until May 11th), 6'7" 312 lbs., and his athleticism is way off the charts. I think he could be A-Jax's successor, or, at the very least, insurance, just in case. Not strong enough yet, and he'll benefit from a redshirt year in the NFL. Hell, he might even stay at Texas if Arch stays; I could see him shooting up draft boards in 2027's draft, if he stays.

We'd likely have to take either Dunker or Goosby with our late first, but with a late first and late second, I'd also be tempted to go cornerback (unless we re-sign Forbes and McCreary) or wide receiver. I also want to go for an edge in this class; it's full of them, Byron Young might end up being dealt himself if we can't re-sign him, and Hampton's a free agent next year as well.

There is no right price on having a quality backup right now.
Every team with playoff aspirations has their QB in place.
It's been 2 full seasons since JG was a starter, best case scenario would be a late round pick swap.

Possibly, but the Commodes might need a starting quarterback for now. Just saaaying...

If Stafford want to play for 3 more years, I’m totally on board
