And once again we always come full circle to opinion on Mendoza. You have a higher impression of him than I and other people do. Most everybody outside of his ROD fans have him as the new version of Goff and Cousins. I don't see anything other than an average NFL QB especially with the lack of arm strength.

As for the read option stuff the same was said about Nix in that Oregon offense and he's really taken to the NFL game. I see more ability as a passer and arm strength from Moore and as much if not more mobility/running ability.

We're just going to have to agree to disagree on Mendoza though we've had this conversation multiple times :D And it's good we can agree to disagree. I also would bet the house on the fact if he goes to the Raiders he's going to implode with that OL and coaching staff/organization.
Mendoza looks pretty good. Can be a top 10 NFL QB with a good coach/OC/ organization.

I was on the Mendoza train early, he’s a winner & will lead whatever team drafts him to a better record. Even if it’s the clueless Raiders.
He's got all the tools needed to succeed. Can run when needed. Good arm. Tall in the pocket. And a high IQ with a good work ethic. Unless the Raiders screw up and win Sunday he'll be in the silver and black next year. They have some cap space to build the line for him. We have no idea how good, or bad Jeanty is. He ran behind a terrible line. He might be the kind of running back a young QB needs.

Yes and his consistency is impressive. Kid gets through reads quickly, ball comes out decisively with good decisions.

On the flip side Simpson really looks like he got exposed. I was pulling for him but the backup showed more in that game than he did. Also not finishing it after taking a stupid hit that was completely unnecessary and fumbling the ball, squandering an early scoring drive... Leaves a bad taste.

I think Simpson's gonna grade out as a backup. He's got Shanahan written all over him. Good kid and all and may end up being a bargain for some team. But just not in that top QB range. I'd say not even in Brees range, meaning early 2nd round, because Brees had tons of good film not one season where he fizzled hard vs the best competition.

Give Jeanty some blocking and he'll be a baller.

I was high on Simpson earlier in the year, but I've cooled on him of late. He hasn't looked good in weeks. I'll need to take another look at him without recency bias playing a role.

Most of these draftable QB's can have the same exact thing said about them.
Most draftable QB's can be a top 10 QB? Really? 5th rd picks? 6th rd picks? Sure there are outliers, but most of them?

Seem to recall few QBs drafted after the first rd succeed. A few 2nd's have had great success, and so on. However, I wouldn't say most QBs.

Fair. But recency aside he looks small as hell out there. Doesn't have a very strong arm. And has a very small sample size as a starter. So I'd imagine draft boards are going to reflect all that, and there's gonna be questions about him being content to sit on that depth chart until his senior year.

Then you get to the tape, which would need to look consistently like the early season tape to put him in the early going. But it doesn't, it trails off.

This is why I say he may end up being a bargain for some team. But I expect some backup level grades on him. And I totally picture that kid in an SF uni too.

Get the Cincy kid in the 3rd and see what we have. Maybe Payton, which ever one is smarter and the better passer with anticipation . I bet at worst we have a good young backup who is a physical specimen and fast.
But for right now, I want Stafford to get all the help he needs keeping it rolling.
I think the Rams should go CB or LT in the draft. But could you imagine how good Puka and Devonte would be with a 6' 3" tall 4.3 rookie on the outside ?

You know damned well I typed that out wrong :D Most of these 1st round qb's can have the same thing said about them. Look at Tyler Shough for example. But then again 5th 6th round picks being good with coaching?

He announced a week or two ago he was staying in college and entering the transfer portal. Going to make a lot of money for a year in college then enter the draft next year.
