Goff has the talent, the demeanor, fits perfectly in the offense we have, and is young.

I'll keep him.

I like guys like Mahomes, but I want more of a pocket guy. I also think that Mahomes is benefiting from the same thing Goff got last year (wide open receivers) while Goff can fit the ball in any window. Jury is still out for now.

Even without the injury, defenses always figure out mobile QBs including guys like RGIII and Mariotta.

Aaron Rodgers and Favre were different because of their immense arm talent.

And honestly, unless Mahomes becomes that good, defenses will figure him out

Yes and it also has to do with the QB's ability and give-a-F of working to be good in the pocket. Using Goff as an example the moment I knew he'd succeed was when he stood up at the mic the end of his first season and promised he'd do what he had to do to fix things. He immediately signed up with Tom House and his group and worked his butt off from there on to be the guy we see today.

Guys like RG3 meh. He was more concerned with endorsement deals and how wrong the coaches were if things didn't go perfect for him, which of course they didn't when they tried to put more on him. Lots of the athlete types it comes easy to early on, they simply beat defenses with their athleticism in college and in their first year in the league the blitz is cautious due to their ability to threaten the edge. But over time they'll get beat up if they don't transition to playing well from the pocket and benefitting from the protections of the rules.

Mahomes is already good from the pocket. He is clearly a good kid who is interested in mastering his craft, so I think KC found themselves a great QB he just needs to be careful with the running and prioritize his health and living to make the next play.

I wouldn't feel comfortable trading Goff for anyone.. not with him and McVay and him together.

But trying to say mahomes is "meh" pretty hard to fathom.

The dude has a cannon... can throw on the run and drop a 60 yard dime.

Just a nightmare to defend...

On pace for 54 touchdown passess.

I wouldn't trade him for Goff as I said.

But to say he can't ball out makes me think people are being bias.... sorry.

I didn't hear anyone say that he couldn't ball, but I understand your point. I am not sure what more Mahomes needs to do to convince people that he is a special...SPECIAL talent. Anyone who has thrown a football should know that. He is unbelievably talented. I thought he would be a one trick pony, so he has already proven me wrong.

Aaaaaaaanyhoo, JGoff is still the choice for me. So many intangibles with him already. The accuracy to pretty much every part of the field is amazing. He will continue to grow in this offense and I can't wait to watch it all unfold.

Drewbacca is a very good QB, and has the Dolts looking like a playoff team right now, but I can't stand to listen to the guy talk. He's worse than Kermit the Chef.

No one. Goff is that QB who not only fits this offense but is really young and has that uncanny ability to shake off bad passes that every QB throws and the hard sacks many QBs receive. He’s cooler than a well digger’s ass. Not that I’ve ever felt one - you understand.
Goff is the first quarterback we've had since Warner that when he lets go of it, I think it's gonna get there. No matter what. He has that touch and velocity all in one. No fear in the pocket either ..... when he steps up in it.
I can't think of a better fit for the Rams than Goff, but it would be Mahomes if I had to choose.

(Edit) to the response from earlier. Poster hiccup by not adding the quote. Now I lose the argument by negligence

It’s his first year starting, and he didn’t have a single NO until the 3rd game I think. Then turned it over in the biggest game of his young career, against the arguably the best team in football. With 3 backup linemen trying to guard one of the best defensive players in NFL history.

And the game was on his shoulders.
That was a super impressive perfromance until the last 4 minutes.
