Well with John Johnson now gone I'm going with mebbe the best Free Safety in Rams history, Eddie Meador.
We put him at FS and let Fuller, Rapp and Burgess haggle it out at the other spot.
See ya'll in the Super Bowl!!

ED running the ball with this receiver corp? That would be pure insanity. I also would like to see what SJax could do with this offense around him. The guy was a beast and it is a shame that we were so gawd awful when he wore the horns.
Thing is as good as Marshal Faulk was, he’d never sniff playing time with ED on the roster, or at best play the role of Malcom Brown

At least that’s my POV, and I saw them both

Thanks OC, I was wondering how long have you been a Rams fan?

Since 1968, by then Eddie Meador was on the downside of a great career, he and number 8, the great Larry Wilson were the two dominant safeties of that era

Our original number 21 in the defensive backfield, sad but that tradition has apparently run it’s course

I started in 1966. I get the feeling that you, AllentoMcvay, nightrain and myself are the oldest fans on this board. Good to make your acquaintance and hope that this is the year the Rams win it all.
Go Rams!!

Faulk could have been a starting reciever on any team ED played on, so he would get his snaps.

I get what you're saying about Dickerson and in that era, on that team, built to run in an era that focused on it more - I would say you're totally right: Marshall wouldn't get many carries with ED on *that* team. I have to swallow a part of my pride to say that, Faulk is 1A or 1B for my favorite player ever... but the truth is Dickerson was as dominant as any runner has been in this game. Both Faulk and Dickerson set all-time NFL records while playing - but ED's has held up all this time for a reason: Dickerson dominated the run game as no one else has since. Not in yards anyways.
Considering the emphasis in the passing game and the complexities of the modern offense, I think Faulk would be at least right there with ED in terms of total benefit to the offense... in McVays system, on this team? I dunno. ED was the man.. but Marshall Faulk was a bad MF too.... superman and shit.

Also, I'm glad you didn't compare #28 to Malcolm Brown. That would be blasphemous.

I would want Jack Youngblood or Deacon Jones on this team.... if I had to pick just one.... Deacon. Prime Deacon next to prime Donald would be unstoppable. We would probably set the all time record for fewest points against.

I know we don't need another reciever.... but Bruuuuuuuce, to make the game winning score to win us another Superbowl is also always an appealing option and would instantly be our best reciever.... but an all time great edge rusher or OLB would be my first choice.
