This is different. Here's the problem: we thought it had overhaul written on it last year and they didn't even draft any. I'm not confident they're gonna be real radical on this.
I will say, after today's game, I'd be willing to pay big bucks for the best CB on the market, which I believe is Jaylen Watson. Do that and draft another by the 2nd round and there's your overhaul.
I don’t go back and study film after the games but one thing I remember is that Forbes and Durant are advertised as good zone coverage CBs. I believe they’re asked to do a lot of man coverage, which is not their skill set. Can anyone elaborate on that? How much of the blame is on the talent level of this secondary especially CB or how Shula is playing them?
I've always been a big Darious Williams fan.. but he's undersized, 32, and has been injured.
Cut him and use the money for one CB FA.. I'm thinking McCreary is worth keeping as well.
Move on from Durant.
Keep Forbes to compete and for depth.
Draft one CB in the first two rounds.. and draft another in the late-mid rounds.
Any FA signing and draft picks need to be bigger and more physical.
It would be great to get *excellent* corners.. but this team would be that much better with just decent corners, imo.
That's one of the reasons I'd be okay trading back with one of those first rounders.
I'd like a CB, C, OT and WR taken in the first two rounds, if possible.
I think we're mostly playing soft zone coverages; hence the bend not break.I don’t go back and study film after the games but one thing I remember is that Forbes and Durant are advertised as good zone coverage CBs. For anyone advocating for resigning McCreary keep in mind that he's mainly a nickel CB.I've always been a big Darious Williams fan.. but he's undersized, 32, and has been injured.

Very well aware.. and what you laid out is actually the argument for keeping him.For anyone advocating for resigning McCreary keep in mind that he's mainly a nickel CB.
He played some out wide his first two seasons but then transitioned full time to the slot the last two seasons. The Rams have stuck with that role for him. Per PFF, 90% of his snaps with the Rams have been in the slot.
Most of the time the Rams have Lake taking the slot snaps, and his versatility is a large part of his value, so I doubt Lake's role changes much going forward. Which leaves the question of is there space for McCreary given his skill set.
Ah, I see your plan. That will be an expensive 4th CB. Spotrac projects his new contract will be $12.3 mil.Very well aware.. and what you laid out is actually the argument for keeping him.
Just enough versatility on the outside and inside. With a FA outside corner, a drafted outside corner and Forbes.. McCreary is my 4th Corner.
Experienced depth is important and he'll have had a part of a season and an entire offseason in the system in this scenario.
I would, but this seems to be their Achilles heel. Lots of whiffs, esp. in the FA market.I’d say we should take 2-3 corners in the draft and sign 1-2 more in FA.
I trust McVay and Snead to make the correct decisions on who to bring in.
