This thread is just a list of things Stafford didn't have in Detroit.
Bottom of the barrel thread? Maybe.........
I'm blaming it on @Shuie3225 :beer2:
He posted one Baldys clips in another thread and I couldn't help but start digging into
his old breakdown clips and got fired up watching them.

So here are a couple things Stafford has never had-

Anybody got something to add to the list?

LOL, this is why I've been saying the Rams D is young but damn when used properly they can control the game. Ramsey gets all the press, but none of this works without Williams on the other side. The media simply doesn't appreciate just how good this tandem of Ramsey and Williams.

If Lewis can stay healthy this is an awesome front 4 of Floyd, AD, Robinson, and Lewis. There is no question in my mind that Lewis is an upgrade to Brockers, it's simply a matter of his health.

If the Rams can keep this core of players together they can really become a perennial contender.

Can we begin the season already? Damn, I'm stoked, they will make a legit run at the Lombardi. There isn't a single team on the schedule that they don't match up well with on both sides of the ball.

Love Baldys breakdowns too man, they're excellent!

Yea that's a great list of things Staffy will have here in LA. It's so crazy to think he's only had 1 top 10 D and a 100 yard rusher in 6 total games. He has played 165 total games in his career... and had a 100yrd rusher SIX TIMES. So fucking nuts.

Not to mention the McVay effect and how many easy throws he will have in this offense. He will get all the wide open, schemed free yards just by virtue of being in a McVay offense. But on the plays where the defense makes a great call or has the advantage, he will still be able to make big time plays with his talent. I'm so excited for this season to start already.

Yeah, those are damn good. Kind of addicting to watch... sucks you right in.

That first one... damn. Ramsey is freaking amazing. That was awesome.

:horns:

This will be most favorable for Stafford’s performance.

Stafford seems like a good guy and I imagine that this might be the most exciting offseason in his life. The potential for this season is insanely good.

This is the year AD and Whit get a ring.

Baldy does a lot of stuff on tv over here and I really like him and his opinions etc. Is he as well liked out there?

He had Suh. Not quite Donald but closer than most.

I don't put any stock in how many times somebody didn't rush for 100 yards in one of his games. Those Lion teams were extremely pass happy. Apparently having Calvin Johnson means you have to throw it 50 times a game.

He hasn't had a playoff win or been part of a division winning team. Hasn't had a front office that could put together a championship contender. Hasn't had an offensive coach like McVay or a coach that could get the most out of a team's collective talent.

Playing for the Rams is a substantial step up from Patricia's Lions. More talent around him, but more pressure on his shoulders.

Apparenty, that was up to Stafford's various OC's at Detroit, as far as the "pass happiness." Also, if you have a sucky team and you are behind in the 4th quarter constantly, what's he supposed to do besides try to win it? You are not being reasonable.
Just watching him in OTA's and of course his time in Detroit, it's the WAY in which he throws the ball. He is freaking STUD and I can't believe you don't see it.

Yeah, the ability to throw from any angle is incredible with Stafford. Truly in a league of a few like Rodgers and Mahomes in that regard.

Well, Stafford has never had a running game ... that's for sure.

I checked the Lions' team rushing stats for his career. Most years, the Lions averaged under 100-yards rushing per-game. A few years, they averaged between 100-105 yards per-game.

Over 110 rush yards per game? Detroit did it just once in Stafford's career.

The Rams rushed for over 120 yards per-game in 2017, 2018 and 2020.

I wonder if with Stafford at QB will McVay still call running plays on third and long.

Will he trust Stafford in those situations? Or wasn’t it a matter of trusting Goff on third and long, but just a conservative philosophy?
