The Thursday night game does add to my anxiety.
Me too. I watched their entire game vs Houston and have to admit they were hitting on more cylinders in week 1 than us. Defensively they had some issues but some of that was Watson making throws most QBs will not attempt.

So yeah. Gotta give them the edge based on week 1. But these teams know each other well, and the Rams improved themselves a great deal at safety. And they're in LA. So logic tells me we should win this one.

We should have the advantage, not being in the dome. Anxiety still lives.

While doing a "match up" of team A vs. Team B and then comparing them to Team B vs Team C, doesn't always work. Because Team B (Carolina) plays much better at home and is notorious for their collapses on the road. Now, that doesn't mean we were hitting on all cylinders Sunday. But it does make it harder for us to figure out what might happen going forward. And all of us will still have that nervous feeling deep inside come this Sunday afternoon...….
Go Rams.

My concerns are that they have Jared Cook this year and dont sleep on Latavius Murray. If we have to double Kamara, michael thomas and cook will go off. We dont have any real solutions for them. Ted ginn jr is another guy who went off last game that nobody is talking about. We have issues with Big Tight ends and I think the difference between this year and last year is them having Jared cook and it will present a big issue for us. If we put Talib on cook. I can almost assure you that thomas will go off against peters. We gotta figure it out.

They may have Jared Cook this year but we have Cooper Kupp this time around, and I'll take Kupp over Cook every time.

Also, Mark Ingram is a noticeably better RB than Murray so they have a downgrade at that position. Meanwhile we have a much healthier Todd Gurley to throw at them this time around. I actually think this matchup is much more favorable to us than the last time we played them.

Remember tampa beat the aints badly in week 1 last season, and tampa was not a contender. Its still early and anything can happen, but I like our chances at home against a team that is still holding on to the non call from last year. McVay will have our Rams focused on this game, knowing that last season is over and this is a new season.

You do know that kupp played in the 1st meeting that they won in nola right ? The concern I'm having is that we cannot play 1 on 1 with thomas, kamara , or cook and we need to figure out who we wanna focus in on. Because leaving Peter's on thomas while talib is on cook(bigger guy) won't cut the mustard and kamara being matched up with NRC may get ugly as well.

I just caught a few highlights of the Rams/Panthers game. Anyone see what the crowd looked like? Hoping we have a takeover. Has to be depressing to have another team be louder than your home fans.
___________________________
I believe that game was in Carolina.
___________________________
I want to see last season’s blown playoff loss vs LA avenged with a dominate two possession win on the road in LA. Make this game set a precedent that the Saints are firmly the team to beat in the NFC
___________________________
Going to be a good hard fought game. I can see it going either way to be honest and wouldn’t be surprised if we lose but I think we win by a field goal. Saints 34-31
_________________________
For me the key will be our DL and LB's being able to control the run. If we can do that I really think we come out with a win. Having Oneymata back from suspension should help the middle and I really hope that we do a much better job setting the edge this week. I am not so concerned about the short week as has been noted this is really early in the season and the coaches have had some pre season time to get a game plan formulated.
__________________________
Saints and Cowboys will both be 3-0 heading into their game in week 4 and the saints will end their streak....bank it
__________________________
Weather the Saints win or loose, i expect 3 hours of utter agony and frustration.

Touche. I don't even enjoy games anymore. I enjoy the win after the fact, but the one hour of regulation time is pure pain.

Early week prediction, 41-37 Saints

Simple chess match.... for the long deep ball, put Hill at QB for several looks, read option, hand off, short pass etc.... everyone believes Brees can’t throw deep...he doesn’t need to anymore... whenever Hill is at at QB, he can do a flea flicker and air it out big time! LOL. Wait for it....

What’s on my mind? If it were possible to beat someone by infinity, I’d want to beat them by infinity.

I was watching NFL total access and i seen a few wrinkles against the Rams defense that could help the Saints out. I know they will be looking at tape. I hope these guys on secondary stay assignment disciplined and just do your job and not over think or try and do too much. Let it come

You think DA is studying the film from the SB to see how Bellicheck completely shut down the Rams???

btw: I didn't have the heart to watch that game after the travesty in the NFCCG? For those that watched, how did the Pats shut down the Rams offense? Thx
___________________________
I hope we run the ball down their throats. Limit the turnovers and run that ball all day long on Wade and his D. That’s going to be the ticket to a Saints win.

24-22.....Saints, WhoDat

I have low expectations for this one.

Everything that has been said about short weeks, emotional wins and whatnot factor into my estimations.

Saints typically don’t hit their stride until after week 3 and I think the defense might get caught flatfooted a few times on Cooks and Gurley.

Also worry about our poor showing on 3rd downs, especially 3rd and long. I worry that Kupp will prolong drives and keep the defense on the field.

I think we will be fired up but the grind will wear us down. I see it transpiring similarly to the game from 2017 in LA.

(Quoting score prediction)
I definitely could see the game ending like that. But how sweet would it be if our defense stepped up with a couple pics and a few more three-and-outs! They (defense) are so overdue for a few lucky breaks and a big showing. Could you even imagine what a pic 6 would do for us in this game? The D has to shine Sunday!
__________________________
Soooooo ... any chance ZION plays TE Sunday???
__________________________
I absolutely hate the fact that the NFL has flipped its own incompetence and shady practices into a media hype machine for this “revenge game.”
NFLN itself is playing up the fact that the NFL blew a huge call, and now spinning it into buzz about this game...
A game that is basically tee’d up for the Rams to have success. The Saints are the pawn once again in an effort to ignite a uninspired fan base in a major market.
_________________________
Taking off the Black & Gold glasses, it's hard to see this game as anything other than a dogfight to the end. This is literally the type of game that will come down to one or two plays that will make the difference for the eventual winner. And because it will (likely) be a close game, the officiating will be called into question by someone based on who ends up taking this barn-burner.

Obviously the Saints need to have all their assignments and their gameplan in top form and not allow the emotions of this 'rematch/revenge game' to cause more mistakes than usual. That can be a danger for a team when the players are thinking with their heart instead of their head. Hopefully this game will not go into overtime. That would be extra tough for a team that is traveling, is on a short week, AND will have another tough road game the following week.

But the formula will be the same. If the Saints can take advantage of any/all scoring opportunities, eliminated turnovers and big plays, and (perhaps) get some takeaways of their own, it's likely they will win. If the Rams do these same things well, they will most certainly take control of the game.

So I see it as a close game that may go to the team who makes a go ahead drive very late in the game... possibly even in 'walk-off' fashion. I think the Saints will take this one in another exciting contest that will receive 'Game of the Week' honors once again. Have your heart pills ready! :9:
______________________________
If I look at this without being a Saints fan, I would say Rams win this one because of home field advantage, a longer time to prepare, and not having to fly out to the west coast and adjusting. I'm concerned this game may get out of hand. Could be 35-20 Rams.

Now if I look at this with just my Saints fan emotional "kick the teeth out the the Rams revenge game mode on", Saints 28 - 24. The Saints drive the field and Drew throws a dagga to Cook and we all see which Cook(s), cooks the best jambalaya!

I foresee a lot of three safety sets on defense, hopefully JJ Weddle and Rapp, to help with the TE and RB.

You went past the critical part with two evenly matched teams "...1st meeting that they won in nola right?" This aint Kansas anymore and it sure as hell aint the Super Dome with whistle blowing retards in the stands....EVEN IF (I don't think so) Saints fans take over the Coliseum, it's not a dome. Their effect won't be as dramatic.

Sorry man but I disagree with all assessments here.

1. Blythe was actually the best guard per PFF through the first month of last year. Not saying that he doesn't make mistakes or doesn't struggle; everyone struggles, its the NFL. But if you're looking for consistency and continuity, Blythe, and the OLine in general is a good place to start.

2. Havenstien is a mainstay within the LA Rams. He's not going anywhere, nor is he to be replaced as you say within the next year. He's also one of the higher rated RTs among NFL gurus.

3. Joseph-Day may have been blown off the ball a time or two against Carolina, but again, every DLine player has that happen to them. You're saying that it happened almost every time which is way off here. The guy actually took on quite a bit of double teams during the game (no, I didn't count them). He's not going to be some sort of "playmaker" among the others; rather a space eater, which is what the Rams need. Saying he's 'learned nothing' is not the right phrase IMO. When in fact, how could he learn as much as we'd like when he was behind Suh and Smart last season? Lower the expectations on SJD and give him a few games before writing him off.

4. Sit Robey-Coleman? What!? Dude. You can't be serious here... for multiple reasons that don't need explaining.

5. Talib showing his age? In one game, you believe that he's showing his age... ok. While he is older and not the 'shutdown corner he used to be', he's still one of the best in the business. I don't know what more you could ask for as far as production goes.

Again, don't take this response personal... Im just a 180 from you.

I also would like to add that the Panthers best OL is the stud OC Paradis from Denver and how he did manhandle SJD while SJD sat out the last 2 PS games with a tight hamstring and McVay did not want to risk an injury for his starter . Gaines and Obo both need to play this game.

It can't be stated enough how gassed our D got in the 4th quarter defending the run and all the ugly bad tackling and bad angles showed their ugly faces. The panthers played more of a 4-3 against us and went to a 3-4 base against the bucs last night.

Jared able to have a few deep balls completed will help his confidence and woods is predicted to have more targets on our right side as that is the weaker defensive backs side for the aints. I think we go after Apple specifically in this game & yet stick to the script of take what they give us and hope Cooks is able to get his as we all know we have Cooper Kupp back when this was the game we lost him in L.A. last season. I know the aints center is nothing like Paradis was for the panthers & we won't have the middle gashes we saw last week. During the SB winning year the aints had two Pro Bowl Guards and unger at center. Bushrod is now no longer a guard or Center as the aints will allow Aaron Donald a much better game against their middle three than he faced last week in the heat with no one to even give him a breather. I see lots of hurries yet The aints have a very good right Tackle in Ramcysk that will be a big challenge for Clay Matthews and I'm hoping for Obo to be active and even our other OLB pass rusher Patrick Durnham to give a closed edge & some hurries to passes from opposite Fowlers side. Can't stand the backup qb they run the wildcat with and hope we are ready for all his plays we've seen him run.

I love the whole concept that they are the victims when 2 crucial calls (on them...) earlier wasn't called. The pass interference call wouldn't have been an afterthought if they would have caught the first ones....but that doesn't go along w/ Aint's revisionistic thought process.

I think it's time for a Kick-the-shit-out-of-them Sunday.
It’s so bizarre how deluded a fan base has to be to view the bountygate Aints as victims in any light. :palm:

I also saw a time or two where he took on AD 1 on 1 and won those battles. He's a very good center and not beating him every play is nothing to be ashamed of.

I'm not just a rams fan,but a actual football fan. So let's not give saints fans ammunition when we have our facts incorrect. Bushrod wasnt a guard, he played tackle in the superbowl as a back up and he also played backup last year before retiring this year. Their entire starting line made the pro bowl minus the newly acquired center they got from a&m and he was rated as the top 1 center in the draft. Erik McCoy is his name. They held jj watt to 0 across the board. Also speaking of that wildcat qb. They had him lined up as a wr and he caught a td. I even saw him at running back, etc. He is all over the place, but he is pretty good. Taysom was actually a heisman candidate at BYU before serious knee injuries derailed his collegiate career. Saints also have a good punt/kick returner that I wanted the rams to get from a small school and his name is deonte harris..he is fast .

The only thing I'm really worried about in this game is how Blythe is going to fare. In the Championship game the Saints abused him. There is no question in my mind they will target him with stunts and delayed blitzes. Blythe most of the time needs help and when he thinks he has no one in particular to block that is when he's vulnerable. He's slow to pick up delayed blitzes and stunts. He's poor on handing off and taking handoffs on blocks. Unless he is absolutely squared up on a rusher he will struggle. Part of that is because for an o-lineman he has short arms giving him a reduced play radius. It's also why long armed strong DT's can simply brush him aside as we have seen way too often.

Havenstein struggles with speed so that is why getting him a TE chip is important. It's also why I think Edwards will replace him in 2023 if not sooner. He'd make decent trade bait in 2022.

They need Gaines and Ogbo in this game. SJD did nothing except get blown off the LOS by only the CENTER! Not just once but every down he played. They tried to play him at 3T and he wasn't any better. He's learned nothing in two years. He still plays upright and lacks functional strength. I could see it in TC and couldn't believe they still started him. He simply isn't an NFL d-lineman and if not after 2 years then when?

Nickell is still hit or miss with his play. They are better off playing Rapp as their nickel DB or sit Nickell and play Williams. Nickell is a holding or PI penalty waiting to happen. The Saint's are going to target him bigtime and he will get frustrated and could cost the game. I say sit him because they have alternatives they didn't have last year.

Talib is showing his age and is another reason they are playing so much zone. He's not the shutdown man CB he used to be.

Funny how the Ain'ts fans ignore the two facemask non-calls and the delay of game that went their way. One of those face mask noncalls resulted in a 4 point swing in the score in their favor.

They ignore how they still had a chance to win but their vaunted D choked not once but twice...once in regulation and the other in OT to keep the Rams out of FG range. What a bunch of cry babies.

Wade, Sean, Les and I disagree with you about NRC.
