When the replay actually showed how blatantly Fowler was held, it swayed me to his side. That must be frustrating as heck. That ref should've taken his lump instead of taking it out on the player who was held and unduly influencing the game outcome.

oh yes the hold was horrible... I totally understand why Fowler was mad.

I'm not saying I even would have acted any better - I probably would have gotten a 15 yarder also.

But in the end.. yeah 15 yards than a touchdown....

I guess a better lesson to learn now than in the playoffs.

You can add The Hawks hit Goff twice after ball was put and drove him to the ground both times to no call but they call a leg tackle on Wilson to the list

Exactly what I was alluding to. If you're going to call it tight, call it tight. If you're going to let them play, let them play. But jesus man it's gotta be fair to both sides.

Definitely, but it'd be nice if the officiating got cleaned up before the playoffs as well....

Just look for them to call less penalties. The rams better come up with better urge control.

Refs were terrible in general, they definitely went into the game with preconceived notions and looked for it.

Suh getting called for a late hit after he lowered his head and just sort of popped Wilson a second after he threw (it looks like he was lowering his head right as Wilson was throwing it) looked pretty weak too in my opinion. It wasn't overtly late as far as I could tell, looked like Suh didn't see him throw it, and he didn't even hit him hard or follow through.

I would hate to be an official on this crew defending their calls in thus game to the league office. Lol.

I’ll just leave it at that.

Yeah, but at this point are they even being reprimanded for their blatant missed calls? This seems to be the status quo in today's NFL, and it doesn't seem to be getting any better

Fowler said something then walked away - it's whatever Fowler said.

Just because you "walk away" doesn't give you free reign to say whatever you want before you turn.

I kind of agree with you - you'd hope the official can just ignore it.

But depends on what Fowler said. (what if he said "You're a freaking joke - then walked away? just as a hypothetical).
Even if he said that anything short of a threat should be ignored. He didn’t push the red didn’t get in his face in a aggressive manner or nothing

The ref needed an excuse to keep the game close for entertainment purposes. He was already doing a good job of keeping it close by not calling holding.

The Olineman had his hand full of Fowler’s shirt collar. It was a blatant and obvious hold. On one of Wilson’s longer scrambles, Suh has his arm held by both of a lineman’s hands. It’s pathetic. I don’t ever recall such blatant holding being ignored.

Yeah sorry as bad as the officiating might be at some times - I can't go along with the idea that a player can say whatever they want as long as it isn't a threat.

No officials are ever going to get respect using that model.

One thing that concerned me with the trade for Fowler is that he is coming from a very undisciplined, dissension filled team in Jacksonville. I hope he gets it out of his system fast. He seems to be rubbing off on Aaron.

You dealing with grown men in a grown man sport if you can’t handle a quick 3 second burst of emotion then maybe you need another line of work. You don’t think the Refs say things to the players?? It goes both ways but the difference is the ref not going to penalize himself

Right if I was a a d-lineman I'd certainly be frustrated - I probably would get a 15 yarder myself.

That being said I'm pretty sure we got called for no holding calls and they were called for one holding.

Like I said try refereeing any adult men's rec league (choose any sport) for a season - your perspective on this might change.

If you just let the players yell on and on at the Refs with no penalty your game will break into a riot.

I've seen it from age 8 to 50.

Yeah I actually have. For more than one season nothing worse than AAU basketball. Having little snotty nose boys puffing up there chest and staring you down or saying get your head out your ass, stop calling fouls like a bitch and so forth. I’m not saying that players or Refs should be disrespectful but what Fowler did didn’t deserve a penalty. Especially a penalty with no explanation

He gave him a forearm. Clearly.

I hate to say it, but our defense is full of cry babies.

Definitely not Superbowl caliber.

Normally, if I was the coach, I would be screaming at my players for the personal foul penalties.

But, the refereeing has been abysmal this season. How much can you take before you pop? Game after game it's one bullshit penalty (or non called penalty) after another.

If I was coach, before the next game, I'd tell my players to make a statement today. Go out there and scream and fight every bullshit call. At some point you got to take a stand and stop putting up with this crap. I, for one, am sick of watching it week-in and week-out. Go get 30 personal fouls and ejections today, and let's see if we can draw attention to the press and the NFL, and try and put a stop to this horrible officiating.
