Well I think the Rams not thinking about the not so distant future of needing a QB and praying nothing happens to Stafford, would be bad planning by any GM.
I don't think that is what they have done the past two years. I don't think that is their thinking at all.
Any team with a top-QB, paid top-$, is likely Toast if they lose that QB for an extended period of time.
The hope is that, should the starter go down for 4-6 games, that there is a solid back-up who can help the team win at least half those games to stay in contention until the starter returns. The Rams have paid for and capably filled that role with Garoppolo. They HAVE Not and ARE Not ignoring the position.
The Rams have been Practical and Realistic
I'm hoping the Rams brass at the very least take a shot at getting the #1 pick..... We need a QB more than anything right now.
The Las Vegas Raiders NEED a Quarterback Much ...
MUCH ...
MUCH ... more than the Rams; and just about any other team in the NFL.
Acquiring the #1 overall pick just does not seem .... IN ANY WAY ... Practical or Realistic to me.
Your trade suggestions reads ridiculous to me.
The small things we can get through free agency.
Finally, up-grades to the Secondary, plus another WR, are far from
'small things' in my opinion.
Furthermore, there is usually not a ton of significant talent available in Free Agency; and what talent is there, tends to be significantly over-priced.
To over-spend in Free Agency can be reckless, dangerous and short-sighted, especially when the Rams have so many quality players that will be up for new contracts in the next two years.
Less expensive talent comes through the draft; and, your suggestions will rob the Rams of ALL their picks.
I am going to tap-out now.
