I don’t believe in jinx or karma.

The Rams have had plenty of great RBs including the guy who holds the single season rushing record.
Jinx was a poor choice of words. I don't beleive in it either. I was referring to what we all call our bad luck lately with RBs.

CMC

I'd offer a few mid round picks this year and our first the following year.

Having a weapon like that out of the backfield that defenses have to account for will not only provide an outlet which will help our pass pro (or at least help Stafford get the ball out), but it will also be another piece defenses have to account for and will help Kupp get open more easily. Once Van comes back, the OL gets healthy and having CMC? That's an elite offense.

An EDGE may be needed for the playoffs, but we need to get to the playoffs first. The offense in its current form may prevent that from happening.

I really don't know what I hope the Rams do.

If the Rams are relatively quiet, and don't make a "splash" move, that tells me they aren't willing to mortgage the future by going "all in" this year. But if the Rams again make a huge move, that tells me they still believe the future is now (and the SB window is only open as long as Stafford and AD are still in their primes).

Could I see the Rams trading a 2023 3rd and a 2024 1st for CMC? Yeah, I could definitely see that. Sounds like the Panthers can't get 2 1sts, but a 1st and a 3rd could win the bidding war.

As usual I'll trust McSnead to be bold with calculated risk, whether it's help at OL, RB, or Edge.

Below is an article about expected compensation fir CMC:

Montez sweat is THE perfect face candidate. Washington should want out and he's a great linemen.

There's ZERO appetite in this org for a 5 year plan and/or girding for the long-term future. AD will play another 1 or 2 seasons max, same with Stafford, and McVay isn't going to captain a rebuild project.

Our Rams are not playing long ball, they're in WIN NOW mode, at all costs... and the clock is ticking.

D is not the problem. OL is a mess, but at present we need more playmakers to open up the offense and light up the scoreboard. We can't wait for OBJ... GO GET CMC!

May not be the panacea that we hope for, but Rams leadership are swinging for the fences... and as a lifelong Rams fan, I fucking love that.

My only issue with Sweat is that he's only ever played in a 4-3 (and he'd be pretty big for a 3-4 linebacker, especially since we occasionally drop our linebackers into coverage). Granted, Brian Burns has only ever played in a 4-3, but he fits the mold as a dominant pass-rusher in a 3-4.

Save our picks. Realistically we're not going to compete for a title with this roster after the injuries and FA losses. Two players wont make a big enough difference. I think for once we should save our picks, get our guys healthy, and try our best to make the playoffs. To me it doesn't make sense to trade a 2nd and a 3rd because it wont get us over the hump.

All the CMC talk is insane to me. The guy has missed 50% of his games the last 4 years. No fucking way we can afford to trade for a guy with high injury risk.

It is insane. But if they go for it I'm gonna be on that bandwagon. Can't fault them for going all in like they do.

Not talking about him coming back. I would love that, but it is not a real scenario.

Put me FIRMLY IN the Henderson camp. That said… He is best used in complimentary, IMO… but he should be and is the starter on THIS Rams team.

MB feels like a thing that won’t last, unless he sticks as the last RB on the depth chart. I love MB but he is 29. As a semi power decent speed guy, 29 is up there at RB.

I root for all Rams like you but Funk always felt fringe to me.

Just on the MB front. My point was always that he was with Cam Akers his rookie season & got a lot of the early season reps & helped HENDO stay healthier in 2020.
Even though he is 29 doesn’t mean he can’t be part of the new
the special teams unitei

I'd like to see us address two problems: (1) a playmaker at HB and (2) an EDGE who can improve the pass rush. Aside from Christian McCaffrey, I think the two best options are Kareem Hunt and Robert Quinn.
Why does everyone mention Hunt? Is he even available???

FWIW over on a Panthers forum, all the fans talk about regarding CMC is his injury history and how he's "glass." Bummer.

McVay has never had that attitude nor would I want him to have that attitude. McVay has always done his best to win the Super Bowl every year, and I don’t expect that to change. I am glad to be a fan of a team who expects of themselves, experts of each other, and expects of the coaches, that they are going to put themselves in the best position they can to win the SuperBowl.

I'd much rather go for Kreem Hunt. Like waaaaay more. But there's variance every year in the NFL and the injury bug fucked us big time. Last year the Von move and OBJ signing made a ton of sense. We were already a great team though. I just hope for this year we keep our draft capital for once. This isn't the last year of our window. Plus the cap will take another decent jump next year. If we trade for someone under contract for a few years I'd be down, but risking a potential one year rental for a 2nd or 3rd is not worth it IMO.

He's the definition of glass. The trade would be so infuriating. There's other RBs to be had if we want to go that route. Kyren will be back after the bye too. IDK.

Before I read what others have asked Santa Snead to bring down the chimney for the bye week here is my wish list...

1. I wish for cheerleaders with more gratuitous cleavage.
2. I wish for us to move Cam for either future draft capital or a young player with a few years left on a rookie deal.
3. I wish for us to raid practice squads as there must be more value there.
4. I wish for us to cut underperforming players with no trade value, namely Evens and Colonic.
5. I wish that we keep as much of our draft capital as possible.

Pretty non-specific but that's what I got. I think we're at a crucial juncture and can no longer "carry" non-performing players. As the old saying goes, one person's trash is another person's treasure. ;)

No, he's not available as he's too valuable to the Browns as they go on a playoff run. He's on a cheap contract and almost held out, so if he was moved there would have to be a massive contract that came with it. I don't see that as viable, but would be worth a future 2nd/3rd if we could work out the financial details. The R Woods dead cap money probably holds us back here IMO.
