Sorry, I beg to differ. Akers, had his own injury issues remember? He only played part of last season. He had 145 carries for 625 yds. He averaged 4.3 yds per carry and had 2 TDs. He's the proven workhorse?
Henderson had 138 carries, for 624 yds. He averaged 4.5 yds per carry with 5 TDs. So how can you say he's done nothing? He did more with less. Funk has recovered from both ACLs and that is an injury players can return from. Cooper Kupp had an ACL injury in 2018 and has actually returned faster and stronger. He's played 2 seasons with no issues. That is not to say Funk won't get hurt, but that can be said of any RB in the NFL. But to assume he will get injured again can't be said with any more certainty for Funk than any other RB in the NFL. Remember Funk was treated by a collegiate medical staff. The fact it happened to the same injury is testimony they were wrong in their treatment regime. He's got a professional staff now to strengthen his ACL the same way Kupp did.
Michel has had minimal injuries over his career i.e., he's missed only 3 games. He's had over 900 yds rushing in 2 of his three seasons. He's a complete RB who can move the chains, pass block, and catch. He's a more complete RB than either Cam Akers or Henderson. IMO he will end up with more carries and probably over 1000 yds this year. They can use Sony exactly like they were going to use Akers, so McVay's original offense won't change. Michel will be the grinder lead RB and Henderson the knife at their throat type of RB.
The Rams never carry more than 3 RBs active on the game-day roster so that won't change. They will be no thinner there than if Akers had not gotten hurt.
