If ODB was taken @ #2 most of the followers of Mike Mayok would've crucified Les Snead for an "epic stupid reach".

You take Sammy Watkins. He was the top WR last year at this time.

If anything, I would have taken OBJ and then paid to see the reactions of Ramstalk and RFIP.

Kelvin Benjamin. Not even a contest. Unlike Overrated Bastardized Jackass and the guy who RPIF wanted to fuck every night as if it was his last night on earth, Benjamin was one of the only weapons on a team that had no Cam Newton in a good portion of the season, no running game, and a porous offensive line.

It's definitely a contest imo. Benjamin was thoroughly outplayed by Mike Evans and Odell Beckham Jr.

Mike Evans and Overrated Bastardized Jackass both had a running game, other targets, and better offensive lines. When Silatolu went down, the Panthers had nothing. Evans had V-Jax; the other one had Randle. Benjamin had nothing to work with, and he still produced. When he gets another year in with Newton, we won't even be discussing any other receiver.

Tampa Bay had one of the worst OLs in the NFL last year and a poor running game. The Panthers had a far better running game than Tampa Bay. The Panthers had a top 10 rushing attack in 2014.

Benjamin had nothing to work with? He had one of the most productive TEs in the NFL last year in Greg Olsen. He also had 14 games of Cam Newton at QB...which is better than what Evans had.

And the fact that Benjamin lacked another big time WR helped him. He had the fifth worst catch rate among starting WRs in 2014. He was tied for second in most passes dropped (with 11). He was tied for fourth worst in average yards after catch.

Benjamin put up great numbers for a rookie because he was THE guy in the Panthers passing game for Newton.

Now, I'm not saying Benjamin is a bad WR. He had an impressive rookie year. But he wasn't consistent at all. He struggled with drops, route running, and picking up yardage after the catch. He made some great plays on contested balls which is why he was valuable to Carolina.

That all said, he was outplayed by both Evans and OBJ.

People may hate OBJ but you gotta respect how amazing he was. The guy put up 73 catches for 1043 yards and 9 TDs over the SECOND HALF of the 2014 season(for reference, that's better than what Benjamin produced over the entire season). That's freakish. And he did that as a rookie. That's something you'd expect out of Calvin Johnson not a rookie WR.

Mike Evans? The guy put up 1051 yards and 12 TDs despite being mostly stuck with Josh McCown at QB. His catch rate was 7+% higher than Benjamin's and he only dropped 4 passes. Beckham Jr.? His catch rate was 19% higher than Benjamin's and he only dropped 2 passes.

I still love the measurables for Benjamin. Dude's a monster and though the numbers don't show it, Cam threw some pretty ugly passes his way and he has to take the hit for the drops.

That being said, only one of these guys holds a world record.
I'll go with ODB.

Odell Beckham Jr. has quickly made a name for himself in the NFL - if I was cherry picking a team from all 32 he'd be in it - OBJ without doubt.

Got to love the hindsight with the draft. Here in NY OBJ was considered a bust when he missed all of TC and the first couple games over what were seemingly meaningless injury. In fact, a lot of the early press was that he was a reach pick. Yeah, he was the best offensive rookie last year, heck he probably had the best WR season we've seen since Megatron threatened 2k yards. Lets see what the next years bring. Something tells me that Mike Evans will become a household name after a season or two with Winston

I'd take Sam Bradford still and twice on off season Sundays.

Because Eli Manning isn't Jesus Christ. He's not even Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, or Peyton Manning. Do you know how many WRs have averaged 100+ yards and 1+ TD per game in the Super Bowl era? Three. Calvin Johnson, Randy Moss, and Odell Beckham Jr.

Terrell Owens and Jerry Rice were both 1 TD away from being in that club.

Watkins put up "good" numbers. Beckham Jr. put up unheard of numbers. That doesn't change because you went from a below average QB to an above average QB.

I don't know Jrry. While I agree with you in part saying Eli doesn't make a difference isn't true, IMO. Eli has two super bowl rings, Watkins had the likes of Kyle Orton and EJ Manuel throwing to him.
Manning put up 30TD's and 4400 yards.
Orton/Manuel 23TD and 3800 yards.

Not a massive difference but 600 yards and 7TD's isn't nothing either. Don't get me wrong Beckham is a stud but I think one year isn't a fair sample size either.
If Beckham does this for 3-4 years and Watkins doesn't then I can see a fairer argument.

But QB play and offensive styles does have an impact on stats.
