They support the players, they do not support the owner. I bet TV ratings were great. I know many people who love the Rams but refuse to buy a ticket and give Kroenke a penny of their money. Can't really fault them.

Unfortunately, the NFL probably will, because it all comes down to dollars and cents to them. That's the only thing I'll be saying about that, I'd rather talk about how great of a game it was.

There could have been zero empty seats and the NFL would still be ok with moving the team. It's crazy how a city has supported a bad football team for 20 years and have offered to build 2 stadiums in 20 years and they are most likely going to lose the team. I've come to terms with it being the last year here. Im just going to enjoy the season. I will however defend the St Louis fans from criticism. They deserve none in this instance.

It's a travesty that the home market isn't supporting our football players.

Lookin for a travesty there you go. Our best team in a long time and people don't show up for it. The dome was at 79% of capacity from those numbers, down 7% from last years average.

There's a whole 'nother board dedicated to this opinion.

Its a much bigger fucking travesty that the home market team's owner is not only not supporting the home market, but actively alienating the home market team's fans. But even with all that BS, if this team continues to play like they did yesterday, I predict Ram's fans will fill the dome again. And the fans that were there were diehards. And made the most noise since the GSOT days. So STFU

Luckily the NFL is a league where team owners don't have to break the bank to be successful.

It's a complete 180 for me with the way he manages Arsenal but that probably also has to do with Wenger's stubbornness to a fault.

Well, if you're going to live your life trying to keep your money out of the hands of greedy billionaires who really don't give a crap about you, your feelings or even your well-being...good luck. I mean, it's a way to go, but life on an off the grid commune isn't for me.

Does it suck for St. Louisans that Kroenke may move the Rams? Yes. Yes it does. I'm certain no one will argue that.

But THINK of this.

THIS year is looking to be special. Look around the league. Star players are already falling to injury on "playoff" teams and the only team that really looked like it was in mid-season form was the Patriots. Even the Packers while looking pretty good showed that they were vulnerable.

If ever there were a year when our young, healthy, HUNGRY team could really take the league by surprise...it's this year.

Now, if folks want to miss one of only 7 remaining opportunities before they may not be in St. Louis...okay. I live in Florida. I couldn't afford to go if I lived next door to the stadium, but that's not the point. The point is that in other years, I might see missing a rebuilding year in person or missing yet another year where our starting QB is shelved, but that's not this year.

Only 7 chances left before the playoffs.

That's right, I said playoffs. We're going, and it's a really long damn drive so you better go to the bathroom NOW.

I realize this is emotional for some and they just don't want Kroenke to get their money no matter what. And I get that.

But is it worth missing a possible Super Bowl run?

Cuz that's what I think this is...

Not trying to convince anyone, just trying to maybe put it in another context. We don't root for owners, we root for the players...we root for the HORNS.

If we rooted for owners, I'd have left this team the minute Carol Rosenbloom died. And I LOVED our Rams winning the SB and HATED watching Georgia Frontiere standing on that podium. Well...hate's not a strong enough word really... is there a word that encompasses the heat of a nuclear hellfire?

I've learned a lot in the subsequent years and if nothing else I've learned that it's team first. All we can do as fans is root for the team and be fans...or not. The minute we focus more on the owner than the team, we may as well give up because other than maybe a few franchises in all of sports, that's a losing proposition.

Seven more chances to Rock the Dome before the playoffs. That's it. It's gonna be a SPECIAL year. I woulda gone to the Dome in '99 even with Frontiere as the owner and I'm not sure I'd have peed on her if she were on fire. I'd be a part of this season if I could.

That's my take on it. YMMV.

You're a diehard though. Most fans in every market aren't. They react to success and good PR. People feel like Kroenke is sticking it to him and their form of protest is to not show up. To have 51 thousand fans support a team that hasn't won since 2003, that didn't have the best preseason, and that has an owner who hasn't met with any city officials, or state officials about keeping the team here. Rather he has put forth a plan to build a stadium elsewhere. I don't understand how you can't see that a casual fan that makes up 10-20% of the attendance wouldn't say screw this guy I'll support the baseball team that wins every year and is committed to the community, or the hockey team that consistently is in the playoffs. The diehards showed up. The casual guys are turned off and I can't blame them.

Well, I pretty much figured I was talking to the diehards on the board here.

Then again, unlike in baseball, in football, you only get 8 chances to see the home team.

I saw this one video by a Cleveland fan outside the stadium there and he shouted, "YOU ARE A FACTORY OF MISERY!"

I laughed really hard at that...too hard...because I could relate.

That said, my quote resonates with me. Sports is the crucible in which we distill human virtue. The distillate remains are human vice. I like football for what it offers while I understand its many flaws.

Of course, casual fans expect much more in return. Put little in, expect lots out. But even for casual fans... there are only 8 chances to see the team.

Heck, after watching that disaster of a Tampa Bay team, I'd STILL go see them on the Rams bye week or if they didn't conflict with seeing the Rams... because... it's a chance to see a live game. The opportunity itself is just...rare.

And I'm not a Tampa fan. I'm really not a Jameis Winston fan. I'm starting to be a Gerald McCoy fan (I was so so wrong about him)

I think all of us diehards will show up when we can. I was a season ticket holder last year. Loved it, but I couldn't afford to do it again this year. I plan on going to a game though. I can't fault people for not going given the circumstances. I get where they are coming from.

If I had a nickel for every time my wife said "why are you bothering, they don't care enough to stay why watch?" while I watched the game I'd be
about $3 richer.:)

It isn't about rooting for an owner. When a company announces its moving to Mexico or China I stop supporting it with my money. I can't stop it but I can stop giving them my money. Even though my favorite "company" is trying to move, I'm still here supporting it and in the back of my mind it makes me feel like a gullible fool and a chump. I think that's the feeling a lot of people have. You want to be excited, but you don't want to look like an idiot. You know what I mean?

I do. Exactly.

I was an LA Ram fan when Frontiere moved the Rams to St. Louis...

So, I've been through all of it. At least Kroenke pays for players and coaches. He'd have never let Dickerson or Bettis get away, for example...

I wasn't trying to start anything and I totally get why folks would be upset and have an issue with supporting an owner and not want to separate supporting an owner and supporting the team. Trust me, I get it.

I was just trying to add maybe a slightly different take to this.
