I doubt he picked Buffalo over a comparable offer from the Rams.
All we can go off are the reports. Here's Jourdan who has a history of being pretty right with her Rams info for her time here.

She's saying we were around $17 million plus and were flexible. The spotrac guy is saying the deal breaks down to a 3/53. We all know how the money is spread out can tell us a lot about the deal. While the reported number is 20 he's saying other things.

Those 2 look close to me.

Why not if he's relatively cheap? He played well here.
I agree.. I meant that in the best way possible. I wouldnt have an issue with Fowler and Floyd on the edges, and Wagner roaming the middle

It’s easy to look good when you have Gaines, Floyd, and Donald rushing the passer. Von was great for us, but I think he wants to be top dog. I also think the Bills overpaid.

A 2nd and a 3rd down the drain. He helped us win the SB but wasn't MVP Von. Now we're stuck with no EDGE opposite Floyd.

We aren't stuck. Miller just signed his contract, let Snead go back to work now.

What I'm saying is the Rams didn't come close to the actual offer. You're talking about APY. That's only a piece of the puzzle. The Bills are essentially guaranteeing Von will see three years at that salary. The Rams likely were only offering one or two years with significant guaranteed money.

Absolutely we need to see the details. But these reports are painting it so we were close, but we won't know like always until all the details come out and we likely won't ever know exactly what the Rams offered because they don't release those kind of things they miss out on.

I would do that deal 100 times over, I feel a 2nd and a 3rd ain't nothing for seeing our team lift the Trophy. Champions baby!!!
Yep, you traded a 2 & a 3 for a much improved chance to win a SB, which they did... And you get a late 5 back. Can't see how anyone can have any problem with that at all.

Nobody was saying we had a huge need on the defensive line before we signed him. He was a hired gun and did for us what we signed him to do. His biggest contribution stays here helping turn Aaron Donald into a leader.

Honestly it may be a good thing if they can plug that hole with a cheaper option and make a splash somewhere else

Won’t rams get a big comp pick? Snead loves getting as many comps as possible.

So as far as comp picks go, it looks like three 5th rounders and a 6th rounder for next season. And if Morris gets a job, then maybe also a 3rd. Although losing Miller won't help that possiblity.

3rd - Morris?
5th - Corbett, Williams, Miller
6th - Day

I have no ill will towards Von Miller. Turning down that kind of money is tough. It is not like the Rams offered anything comparable (or, at least, that is what reports indicate). In fact, based on this off-season, you could argue the Bills have a better looking roster than us too. So it's hard to say this is all about the money. The Bills look downright scary.

The Rams will definitely feel this loss, but there is plenty of time left to improve. And our defensive line is still very solid, although we will need to work to make it game-changing again. The Rams have a way of acquiring big-name players (Ramsey, Miller, OBJ, Peters) and supporting players (Fowler) alike in-season , once their team needs more fully crystallise. I am not too worried. Pass rush will be addressed, sooner or later, if it needs augmenting. The roster as it is now will look much different in January 2023.

It is too bad we cannot get a higher comp pick out of this.

The money and term offered by the Bills, with that much guaranteed money, is not something I would want the Rams to match*. For the Bills it makes more sense. They are going all-in this season, and Miller is exactly what they need in the QB-loaded AFC.

The trade was a success. We won the Super Bowl. Very steep price to pay for a rental player that was not retained in the end (a 2nd and a 3rd). But there is zero way the Rams win the Super Bowl without Von. So the trade was a success by any objective measure, IMO.

I had a feeling the Cowboys would way overpay for Miller after losing some pass rushers. I did not expect the Bills. Happy he is out of the NFC. Like most free agents this year, it seems.:thumbsup1:

*Unless AD basically said bring Von back or I'm retiring. I am not too worried about that possibility. But in that hypothetical situation, we should have just paid Miller whatever he wanted.
