I was hoping we could mostly keep this team together but oh well, really can't blame him for that kind of money, as long as AD is back I'm good

Been saying that for weeks.
Culture, AD, LA, blah blah blah. Show me the money
And you flat out saying it wasn't possible that he did that is silly too. Anything was possible just look at Smith with Baltimore he could have gotten more money for sure but took a deal to go back there.

So as of right now the 23' draft capital is pretty good. And that's important because they have ammo for preseason or trade deadline trades.

Would be nice to get a 4th or 5th for Rapp so you could move up into round 4.

****1 traded for Stafford
2
3
****4 traded for Michel
5
5c
5c
5c
6
6 from GB for the punter
6c
7 from Detroit for Brockers
****7 to GB for Punter

I know I was over-emotional before, but I work in Buffalo. Vonn's contact looks good, but the only endorsement money he is going to get will be from a car dealer. In LA, I believe Vonn could have gotten huge endorsement deals from international companies. And Buffalo is a great city, but let's be honest, it's no LA. It's cold here, and not much to do during the season, although the fans here will love him. And I thought he had a good relationship with AD and was going to "run it back". Of course he told us the same thing about his "love" for Denver. Oh well... I guess his true love was money, or his ego. Whatever... Go Rams!

23' draft...

And I can see where I confused you about the Rapp trade. Yeah, that would be for a 22' pick. I screwed that part up.

So yeah, still could get a 4th next yr with some other future trade.

Are you seriously trying to compare Jimmy Smith to Von Miller? Miller was a top 3, top 5 FA.
Silly stuff. Miller got what he deserved, not his fault the Rams didn’t have the cap room

Wow. $51.5 million guaranteed, including $45 million fully guaranteed at signing. There is no way the Rams were going to match that. Nor should they have.

I suspect that Von did want to return, and that the Rams got bid up quite a bit higher than they would have liked. Hence why a player like Miller remained unsigned for so long. But at a certain point, the guaranteed (!) money is too much for a player to turn down. Especially when the Bills' roster with Von Miller on it, for my money, is stronger than the Rams' roster without Von.

There is still much time for Snead to acquire upgrades at various positions. I am not worried!

The good news is that we can afford Bobby Wagner, and we might be able to buy low on Dante Fowler. A front of:
DE: Aaron Donald
NT: Greg Gaines
DE: A'Shawn Robinson
OLB: Dante Fowler
ILB: Bobby Wagner
ILB: Ernest Jones
OLB: Leonard Floyd

Is better than the front that won the Super Bowl imo.

I suspect this is the plan now for the defence. Make it a better overall unit than this past season, albeit with a less dynamic pass rush. The A-list pass rushers seem to be gone. I don't think we can replace what Miller brought this late in the Free Agency Game, and I would not want to get caught overpaying for B-list talents to try it. The upgrades will have to come elsewhere. Or perhaps if someone shakes loose next season. Some players always do. Again, don't be surprised if the Rams' make their moves in-season.

I can't blame the Super Bowl eager Bills for pushing all their chips in the middle of the table and keeping pace with the aggressive AFC Conference.

The Buffalo front office went all in on a stud OLB with SB winning pedigree.

Von might be at the end of his prime, but he's going to be a stud if he stays healthy during the 2022 NFL season.

As the hours passed, the Rams front office knew Von wasn't going to take a Walmart discount to resign.

Buffalo has a team ripe for a Super Bowl run and added a big splash.

If the Rams believed they absolutely could not repeat without Von, they would've probably found a way to sign him.

Thanks for the memories, Von. You were a Super addition to our exhilarating journey hoisting the Lombardi trophy.

You took the best offer to play for a legitimate favorite to win the SB.

No hard feelings from my recliner.
