Meh. I have faith in McVay and the game plan was fine. Bucs have the best run defense in the NFL and bad pass D. Was obvious how to attack them. Players didn't execute - BUT - when it's every single player on your team having a bad game (save for the WRs), it's just a burn the tape game. Not concerned about the defense at all.

I think part of this is all the travel, coupled with knowing we have a quick turn around and the Bucs not being a good team (perception).

Having said that, Goff is a problem. Yes the blocking wasn't great, but step one of being an NFL QB is protecting the ball - he's one of the worst in the NFL at that right now.

I still think Goff is elite. No QB can function with an OL like showed up today. Our O schematically isn’t friendly to OL breakdowns.

Brady in Belichick’s EP offense and zero OL help could still function. And they did. Their OL was trash for years.

Our system REQUIRES solid OL play. Will it be better later in the year or next year? Hope so, but in the short term we’re gonna see nothing but interior blitzes and that damn 6-1 front until we figure it out.

And yeah, Goff had a very mediocre day and still threw for 517 yds.

Ask Bucs fans what a bad Jameis Winston day looks like...

If it were just the plays were the OL were bad would be one thing.

But Elite... yeah that's a silly word sorry... He could very well be elite some day.

But thats not objective reasoning sorry.

I am concerned with the defense. How many game has the D been dominate going on three years now. We let a below average QB throw up 54 points. That is concerning.

While I'm not sure he isn't in the elite conversation. I think he's better than any alternatives out there. I love Jared man, I'll let everyone know that right now. I loved him in college, I love the fact he still does some things he did in college, evading sacks and delivering strikes. I love the fact when he's on fire, he cannot be stopped. I also like the fact he's clearly improved against pressure. I think Jared is a very good quarterback. The problem is, Goff was damned the minute he played his first 6 games. People on this forum, in the media, will find anyway to discredit him. When he's playing at a high level, its thanks to everyone except himself. When he's struggling, its all on him and there are no excuses. Jared is having a down year so far, it happens man. Our entire team today was complete ass cheeks. And the man still threw for over 500 yards with a 66% completion percentage.

There are those who believe he needs to take the next step. What is the next step? Aaron Rodgers? Drew Brees? Maybe playing as well as the other two quarterbacks he was drafted with? I think right now, our offense isn't where it needs to be because he is missing guys he normally hits. He needs to get his head out of his ass in terms of some of the shit he's throwing. But I'm not buying the "He's regressed" narrative. The ball came out quicker last year because no one had a way of stopping us. Now they do, and we are finding ways to score anyway. I've said it before, I'll say it again. We are in the process of evolving. Some of you said its all on Goff, you are correct; but that's the problem. Our running game isn't there yet this season, so he's being asked to throw more. Its subjecting him to more bad throws that end in turnovers, and fumbles.

If he doesn't adapt, then we can have that discussion. But for now, gone are the days where we dominated teams. We are in for a fight every game until Jared breaks his cocoon. If he does this all season, then we can talk about benching him. But right now is not the time. He needs to improve, and we need to empower him. Because as we can see, the defense is Jekyll and Hyde at the moment. Nothing is consistent, not even Sean McVay's play calling.

I'd be open to making a move but i wonder if we're seeing the lack of pre season snaps with the new OLine pieces rearing its ugly head here. I think our front line can play but there seems to be quite a bit of finding some chemistry on the fly as a result.
I don’t think we will see a change because this was the plan.
The Rams made a conscious decision to go with young OL options at C and LG and spend FA on defense.
Honestly it makes sense and was fine until the D crapped the bed this week.
It would be naive to think there would not be a learning curve and it would take time for the line to gel. I’m sure McVay and Co considered this.
So, this is the plan.
I fully expect them to stay the course and follow the blueprint they have laid out.
It is way to early to scrap it and head off in another direction. Unless an insane deal comes along, which I doubt.

I agree with a lot of this... How ever he may or may not be playing right now.

He still has a lot of upside... He could be great.

But he has to overcome some things.

This team has a physicality problem. Too much finesse on offense and even the defense lacks a presence in run defense.

Sure they were torched by Winston, but giving up 5 plus yards on first down run plays did not help.

If the OL is lacking then add a FB look with Brown at FB or Everett or someone.

Right now they can't run the ball when they need to and they also no longer are getting the respect to open up the the play-action opportunities down field.

This is the kind of stuff that needs to stop. Bring an actual logical response, not over emotional responses to things you don't like. Toxicity is not welcome here. Nobody is happy, doesn't mean you get to throw a temper tantrum and attack anyone.

The multiple threads of fire or bench or trade everyone needs to be sent to thread purgatory, so props to the mods for spending their own time filtering out that garbage

If you guys think the offensive line is bad now, just wait until Andrew Whitworth walks away after this season if we don't manage to right the ship and become legitimate Super Bowl contenders.

This is a seriously scary thought. We already have 4 question marks on the line. How the o-line and running game go, is how Jared Goff goes. And with no running game whatsoever combined with a bad o-line, we'll continue to see these types of performances. We need to trade for an o-lineman or this season is lost IMO.

Well they played very well against NO and Cleveland. if not for the D we would probably be 1-3 instead of 3-1. They definitely shit the bed today

Tampa's offensive line is pretty dam superior to ours.

100% agreement. I believe in him. I think he can. Nobody likes losing right now, but I think we are in the process of giving him the keys to the offense. Right now, it doesn't look pretty. But its a long season. Tom Terrific AKA Brady didn't start off last season hot either. And we know how that story ended.

I don't know what to say after that performance I really don't . Today was the day I expected us to have a break out game and start really clicking. I was defending this 3-0 team despite some of the hiccups but there's really nothing I can defend right now. My expectations have tanked. I'm glad I'll be alone for Thursday's game, not looking forward to it

Today I learned a QB who throws for 500+ yards with a 66% completion rate on 68 throws can be a problem.

this is true he has a lot of time to get better but so far he seems to be getting worse

Yea 517 yards and 7 scoring drives doesn't cut it. The bum.

Yea he was pressured 30 times, but if he cant put up 600 yards and 50 points he's not cutting it.

The 10 penalites on the offense was Goff's fault clearly to.

Oh well did anyone really expect this team to go undefeated? Just win the division, which starts on Thursday and get the one or two seed in the playoffs. They do that and I think they go back to the SB.

But they have to do something about that o-line right side. Both Blythe and Rob played like crap.

I dont see that. I see he is under pressure way more than the last two years. Today might have been the most he has faced. And while he turned it over 4 times he also put up 500 yards. Kind of a two steps forward two steps back kind of day. I think it was better than last years Chicago or NE day.
