Its a vent thread. But I think we're not as pissed as usual. They were beat by a better team. In a game where the unforced errors made the difference. It wasn't as much what the 49ers did as it was what we did.

1-1 is better than I expected. And the way they've been playing against two playoff teams, I feel better about them than I did 8 days ago.

Cincy has been pretty good the past couple years. But they are off to a bad start.
Plus the Rams didn't get beat up. In fact they got some shots in. The days of SF being the bullies are over. That is what I am most happy about.

This is what I saw too regarding the fumble that wasn't challenged. When Hoecht reaches for the ball it touches the sideline paint and would have been ruled out of bounds. The broadcast yesterday (every week?) was pissing me off yesterday not doing replays quickly and with good angles. I hate that but the last one showed a good enough close up from ground level that I perceived it to be out of bounds. Would like a nice angle from above though to confirm but I guess that's asking too much in this day and age of HD cameras with like 10 different angles at one time.

A Niner Podcast said the Wilkes made the decision to raise the blitz rate in the first half from 5% to 30% in the second half. Normally, Stafford is great against the blitz, but he is still sorting things out with his mostly young receiving corp.

The Rams should have won that game. They had them just about on the ropes, but that in the receivers hands int that led to a Niner score was a huge swing. We should have had points and they ended up with them. They got a lead and time was getting short and they could pin their ears back knowing we had to pass the ball.
These Rams are young and have something going on. They will only get better AND we have some 1st round picks coming up. (do not trade them!)
Think about this, we have this young record setting receiver tearing it up right now.
With the best receiver in the NFL waiting in the wings for week 5.
What are opposing defenses going to do ?
Who do they try and take out ?
Pick your poison is coming up and we now have a young O line who can pass block getting more experience every week.
I want to see what Sean and Co can do not buying a team. Doing it the old way, through the draft.
This way Sean can get invigorated watching the young players develop knowing they are his guys, his system, all of it.
Keep him out of the TV booth forever.
I want a long, long time Rams head coach situation like Bill B, Chuck Knoll . Only in California.
We deserve it.

Deebo and McCaffrey still bullied us, but it still seemed like a big improvement for us over past years.

One thing I liked about this game is we saw some cracks forming in the SF QB1's game when he was subjected to long periods on the pine while the Rams offense matched their offense punch for punch. As that pressure formed on him he started missing throws and reads.

Williams' INT and then bullshit drops by our wideouts killed us. Refs fucked us all day but even with that element the game was there to be won. Rams gained a lot of confidence from this game, that is for damn sure. I just hope we're healthy when we see those bastids late in the season because they have a dogfight on their sched if that's the case.

I don't think enough is being said about how easy it was for SF to get a quick score at the end of the half. I think that was really the momentum changer. After that, we came out of the half and nothing. Yes all those other things did us in, but that takes the wind out of our sail and pumps them up. It changes everything. We should have gone into half time with the lead.

I find it ironic we were a dropped pass away from likely winning this game.

There was a 2nd half pass play that was analyzed and discussed. Four pass rushers vs. the five OL ... no blitz, and no one stayed in to block or even chip.

The Rams put three rushers to their right-side and Aaron Donald split wide at LDE. The three Niners' OL to their left side (LT, LG, C) took on the three Rams' rushers, while the RG went-over to help the RT block Donald.
I was thinking more about the multitude of screens the 9ers used. He was lined up at end a lot. Need him to chase some of those down and make a tackle.

This is one time I want the Rams to wait till the offseason. We can't trade for someone that isn't already signed and loose him in the off season.
Yeah I totally. Obviously in that scenario working out a contract for long term is a must.

I still firm Snead and Co. Look at 24’ as the year with the bullseye, while seeing what you have and grooming the talent we’ve picked up for 2 years now.

I’ve said for a few months now this next RB draft class is both going to be deep and special and id prefer to wait because there is at least 6-7 id absolutely love to have next year on this team with a O-Line.

The thing that stood out to me on these replays is the shocking display of holding NOT CALLED against the 49ers. Cobie Turner was almost choked on the one play and Byron Young's jersey was almost pulled off on another play. WTF refs?
Don't really want to counter that but truth is I saw Rams OL with some grips on the whiners too. Rather nobody held but happens too much and refs won't call because it slows the game.

Just venting about the refs in general. Rams lost because of turnovers and not taking the 17-10 lead in to locker room at halftime.
Hard to win a game when you have the refs call stupid penalties against you or lift a penalty that was called correctly.
It was obviously not called fairly.
