this loss to that shit team is it for me. it makes me question why i bother getting up early in the morning to watch such crappy play.

i actually fell asleep at the half and missed the 3rd qtr. woke up just in time to see the awful 4th qtr. they looked like the worst team in the league on both sides of the ball, being officiated by the most biased crew in football. how the fuck do they have the balls to call dpi on witherspoon after all the shit they let the fucking stealers dbs do all game? he didn't even touch the wr. i wanted to sidekick my tv when they showed the replay.

I think its a stretch to say Tomlin has McVays number after only two games, and we beat the Patriots 24-3 in 2020. McVay is a Brandin Cooks drop away from being 2-0 versus Belichick.

McVay started out 3-1 versus Shanahan, and of course, beat him in the NFCC.

20 years and counting since they beat these guys. Another 4 years of hearing about it. I said before the year started that the new kicker would cost us at least one win.

Possible you are right. I think the two teams are similar in roster quality (middle of the pack) but Tomlin had two weeks to prep his defense and they got it done.

Refs are what really bake my cookies though. They knew they blew it with the call and had to mask it with offsetting. But the Rams defense should have been off the field.

Lot of Rams players underperformed too I think. Kupp, Higgs, Stafford, Kendrick, Spoon, etc., etc.

We need a LT, CB1, and an impact edge. Those positions are critical and we not have Playoff caliber talent there now.

Questionable empty backfield first play call of the second half. Seemed like Watt and the Steelers knew the play was coming.

Stevie Wonder knows it’s a pass in an empty set. I don’t understand McVays love for empty sets. Hey Defense, I bet you can’t stop THIS pass…I dare you.

all NFL teams run empty sets multiple times... it's hard to disguise defenses.

i do agree though our empty sets seem to fail more than others, but i have no real data

They make it easier for the QB to read the defense. I get why McVay likes them on passing downs. I don't understand why you'd start the second half with that play when we were killing them with the run and could play-action off of it.

Its a brain fart because we were doing extremely well with the run and going empty allows the defense to defend the play easier since they know its a pass. It obviously doesn't end there because ultimately Stafford makes an ill advised throw to Kupp who is essentially covered over and under.

my guess why is because on 1st downs teams will often be in base defenses... so spreading them out will lead to linebackers covering people they shouldn't be.

however their guy who never covers anyone made an int....

A real Run game means they can stack the box and you still get 3 to 4 yards and a cloud of turf. McVay schemes Pass and hopes to sneak in a run or two each series.

Just another frustrating loss !!!! :angry4: - seen a few unfortunately. 315 losses since I have been a fan - and I'm sure there will be more.
