Yes it was terrible him losing somebody who was so important to him. That's just one week though he doesn't have that for every other game.

Agreed again what would be the solution? Another play caller? Resign? Fire? Nowhere to really go besides call a better play lol. I understand though thats why I asked.

He wasn't getting the first down. As I posted above as well, he could have tried and maybe made it 3rd and 2 or he busts through which was unlikely. But 3rd and 2 gives us a better chance but we probably still would have run and not gained the yardage needed. Without passing, this ending was inevitable.
No more need to speculate. McVay said in his press conference that Kupp should have gone for the first down, even if he goes out of bounds.

Then he quickly said "I need to do a better job of coaching the situation...". In other words, "No need to slide there, Coop".

He's probably happy to be in Detroit today. At least he has blockers in front of him. He had a shitload of time on his 2nd TD pass today and went to his 3rd read. If he was hear, he'd get killed by the OL, probably turn the ball over, and get blamed for everything.
I was the ring leader here to wanting us to replace him, the kicker for me was the ones that were easy layups he missed. ( game changing passes) Now this season seeing Stafford doing a lot of those same shits as well. Smh..

But I was cheering watching Goff today when I caught the second half. I’m still a fan of his, even if it isn’t with us.

But even as irritated as I am by the defense giving up that sideline this loss is clearly on the offense. And we're gonna keep losing games until McVay personally involves himself in some of the faulty fucking logic that is ruining his team. Because in spite of our OL problems this offense should not be this bad.

Personally, I think the Rams have never stopped celebrating their Super Bowl victory!! This season has been a waste!! Maybe, McVay and the other coaches and players will come ready to play next season!!

Maybe. I am totally wrong but McVay just doesn’t seem to have the same Intensity and Fire as he has in the past!! But, I guess it is hard to keep that Intensity and Drive all the time?!!

He got a ring, he got paid, he got married. He's still on his honeymoon and the team doesn't come first in his order of importance this year.

Kind of amazing that Aboushi got replaced (by Brewer) but Evans stayed in the starting lineup.

How many sacks did Evans give up today... at least 2 or 3? In a sick way I'll be curious to see his pass blocking grade from PFF.

I hope today was Evans' last game as a Ram. Put Nsekhe out there and slide Jackson back to guard. Or pray that Shelton and/ or Edwards are ready real quick.

as I stated above... I think Evans days are over after today.

At minimum 3 sacks and about 10 pressures

Too funny when the first thing McVay says in his presser after the game is the defense did enough to give us a win the offense didn't do enough and that includes me. His whole post game is about the offense needing to be better.
Our defense only gave up 16 points.

I agree with him.

Evans is in his 4th season with the team, how can they not realize by now he's incapable of playing?

I guess I'm in the minority here but I agree with McVay's assessment.

The D held Tampa to 9 points for 59 minutes. And yeah, then they gave up the back breaker on the last drive. Tampa had the ball at their own 42 with 44 seconds left and no timeouts; I agree with McVay's decision to run out the clock and try to lean on his D to close out the game. Unfortunately the D gave up their one TD drive at the end. Derion Kendrick is definitely looking like the weak link; he got abused on both of the last crucial two plays.

The offense is utterly horrid. Aside from the one long pass to Kupp, the offense got what, 130 yards or so? And 2 field goals? Yeah the loss was frustrating, but IMHO the offense again deserves the vast majority of the blame.
You're not alone

What are you sorry about?
I have always liked and respected Coach McVay and I feel like a TRAITOR saying anything negative about him BUT this is NOT the same Coach that has coached the Rams the past few seasons!

Don’t know where he went BUT I hope he comes HOME SOON!!!

He has been replaced by a pod person. Pretty soon we are going to see this from McVay

My complaint with the defense is the same as we have already seen this season where they give up the deep sideline in two minute. You cannot give a team both distance and clock. You can give them one or the other in a prevent approach. But you cannot give them the deep sideline. Giving them the deep sideline = you gonna lose games because they do not have to pay for the distance in units of time.

Morris needs to sit these corners down and explain that to them. Rams need to be situational masters. That's the vision. Giving up chunks down the sideline cannot happen. That has to be a rarity not a recurrence.

He plays a soft zone. Kendrick displayed why he shouldn't be starting. The dude is playing like a 6th rounder. Bench him.

It's the freaking scheme that sucks. Morris' good enough defense isn't good enough. When Romo is saying all game long they are playing too soft you don't think the QB sees it? Morris does nothing to disguise his kindergarten scheme.

All the Morris supporters will come out and point to stats, but the only stat that matters is wins and losses. Morris' scheme sucks and now he's losing his guys. The secondary is playing like shit but it starts with a shit scheme. Morris doesn't play to win he plays not to lose so they do lose. All those that support Morris need to take a long hard analytical look at how he plays the defense. I have and it's damn right ugly.

I would much rather see the Rams lose playing aggressively than play that AWFUL SOFT/PREVENT Defense!!!
This is what I've been saying ad nauseum.

Here is my thinking.
  • Bend don't break doesn't work when it breaks as well. The Rams have given up a ton of big plays from poor tackling etc
  • Letting the opponent make their way down the field, playing the odds that they will mess up, has a really important side effect that nobody seems to mention: IT TIRES OUT YOUR DEFENSE. If you play aggressively, you may give up a few big plays, but it is offset by some big defensive plays, and turnovers caused by fresher players on D
  • Bend don't break also is the worst thing for the OFFENSE. McVay has repeatedly stated the O didn't have time to get in sync from too few snaps. After a 70 play drive, the O trots out there thinking "We better score".
That last factor wasn't included in this anomaly of a game where the offense we played was ALMOST as bad as ours. In fact, I wish OUR offense could have played OUR defense. Stafford would cruise right down the field every drive and we wouldn't be talking about how bad our O is...
