I have seen Kupp beat 2 defenders for 5 more yards.
I think he could have done it there.
I don’t mind the scheme per se. But continuing to play it no matter what is idiotic. Last two drives just dumb. They got a bit lucky with the previous drive. You give teams and QBs so many chances, they will eventually cash one in. Everyone knew it.

In his post-game presser, McVay looked like a guy who knows he's going to have to fire someone this week. Looked absolutely defeated and did not want to answer questions. Gave the same BS as always but you could tell this one was a nail in the coffin for someone.

He wasn't getting that first but instead of sliding down he should have tried to get closer to the first down marker. Forget about making them take the time out we would have been better off 3rd and 2. If we get the first down game is over, if we don't so what they have 1 time out left as you knew they would go right down the field anyway.
Not attempting the standard bootleg and hit Higbee is inexcusable. You have to throw it at least once and go win the game. McVay gets out coached again which is sad.
And Kupp could have gotten the first down to seal it but slid, giving up 5 crit yards.

he could have made it 3rd and 2 instead of 3rd and 5 maybe... but the clock would have stopped.
We've seen Kupp make cuts in traffic a million times. With the head of steam he had he very well could've cut back inside instead of just giving himself up.

Quite possible but I have seen times where no way Kupp is going to get a first down and lo and behold - holy crap - he got a first down

if he cut back into traffic he definately was not getting the 1st down.. his only chance was to try to beat them to the sideline
but looked unlikely and 100% likely to go out of bounds.
69 of that on one play too. A grand total of 137 yard of offense outside of one long play.
Rhaheem Morris prevent defense and a anemic offense that can’t get out of its own way because of a horrible offensive line. We are in trouble the rest of the way I see the team finishing 5-12. I remain hopeful but this year is looking like a disaster.
