The worst part, if we hadn't got robbed of 4 points on our first TD, we win the game, no matter how badly we played.
and on top of that, the interception hit the ground. But the refs say not enough to over turn. Then on TuTu's TD there is no evidence that his heel hit out of bounds. Only their feeling that it had to. There was nothing to over turn that play but bias.

McVay cost us this game. He is far and away the biggest reason we lost.

Outright refusing to run the fooball against a defence that had been giving up lots of yards on the ground in weeks 1 and 2. Williams looked just fine with his very limited carries early, and Stafford didn't look sharp. Why so pass happy?

Even crazier is that the only times McVay DID run the football were when 2 offensive linemen were injured, with time rapidly becoming scare. Crazy.

Not to mention refusing to help out Thomas at LT. What is Sean thinking? Why not give him help? If you insist on leaving your LT 1 on 1, then shift Noteboom over.

Stafford is likely the next reason we lost. Way too many red zone trips ended with FGs. We could have stepped on their throats early. Does anyone think this Bengals team could come back, if we scored TDs, with how gimpy Burrow looked? No chance. We were brutal on 3rd down too.

The refs played a huge part in the loss. No idea how Tutu's TD was reversed on further review. He clearly looked in bounds, let alone it being "clear and obvious" he wasn't to reverse the call. In a game with points being at a premium, that likely cost us along. Especially in light of the above point. No way the Bengals come back from a big hole with this version of Burrow.

Not much luck went out way tonight. Tipped balls when the Rams were on offense? INT. Tipped balls when Cincy was on offense? Right into Chase's hands for a nice gain. Bengals converting FGs from a long distance, bouncing in off the uprights.

Hopefully, Alaric Jackson is okay. We can't sustain any offensive line injuries and hope to succeed. No depth there.

I thought the defence was average. They had ups and downs. Some good and some bad. But with Burrow extremely limited today, we still couldn't fully shut them down. And situationally, the defence was awful. How many 3rd and longs were conceded? Back breaking for a team both on the scoreboard and in terms of momentum.

Williams is a nice piece but is not a bell cow. Too slight, and his hands are very unreliable. Worse, he does not just drop the pass, he puts the ball up in the air for grabs.

They didn't do anything special other than get lucky with a coach who played right into their hands. McVay might as well have told them the playcall before the snap, because they knew not to worry about the run and knew they could simply tee off and go after Stafford.
what defensive looks were teh bengals running?

I honestly don't know what to make of this team. Tonight meant almost nothing because their coach threw them straight into a volcano. A level headed Mcvay wins this game.

I’m genuinely pissed.
And I shouldn’t be! It’s just football!!

But when I see a game where there’s a clear opportunity to win.. and coaching PREVENTS it?

Goddamnit.

D was decent... bengals averaging 15 pp coming in though..

been a shitty offense all year.
Hoecht is a flop because he’s playing out of position. Rams desperately need a stud vet Edge next year while Young develops over the next 2 years. Not loving EJones play so far this year either. Rozeboom is not an NFL caliber player so that needs to improve.

it is eminently clear that when you have no edge rush and lack quality LT play against edge rushers you are in trouble.
We all knew we lacked depth and we now know that A Jack has great value over his replacements.

Oh and we win with the 4 the reffs stole

McVay is gonna get Stafford hurt. He’s gotta run the football. We are playing teams coming up that can get serious pressure on the QB. Dallas, Philly, Pittsburgh. If we play those games like this one this season will end exactly like last. With Stafford injured and incentives to shut other guys down and improve draft status.

Either the offensive coordinator is just a figure head or McVay doesn't listen. Anyone sitting in the box should be radioing down and saying run the ball or send help on the left side

I could say this is about being a young team, but bluntly, that wasn't the problem tonight. Losing Alaric Jackson was crippling because McVay refused to adjust to his absence. But even before that happened, McVay's gameplan made no sense. The decision to refuse to run the ball against Cincy is not something I'll understand. His bad night plus some lucky breaks for Cincy and their defense outplaying our offense was enough to cost us a winnable game.

NFL Network suggesting the timeout that the Bengals called on the Higbee TD pass was actually late.... seems to be the trend with this game, getting screwed at every turn.

Whatever they felt like, because they knew McVay was never going to challenge them on the ground. He made it easy for them.
yeah they were mugging the line of scrimmage all night.. they knew we couldn't block them with two lineman out.

i agree we should have ran more... but ya.

I think Mcvay was trying to outsmart Taylor and it didn't work.

The d wasn't horrible tonight, but the offense was.

Mcvay and Stafford also lost the game on the play after the refs bent us over.

play action from the 3 was a bad move.. then Stafford held the ball too long and that was that.

Was the gameplan to force Burrow into a shootout? Somebody tell McVay we aren’t the Dolphins.

I don’t feel the refs were bad. Interception didn’t hit the ground, but i also dont think tutu was out of bounds.

Also some growing pains from a young football team. Our line needs to learn from this game. Kyren needs to study the tape today.

And the ONE bengal on my fantasy team was Higgins and he laid a damn egg.

Fuuuuuuuck.
