I didn’t watch the game (it was on at 01:15 here), but judging by the last few pages of the GDT this loss was on McVay, our inability to convert third downs, AJ’s injury and the refs.

But mainly McVay.

Amirite?
mcvay, and the oline got injured and we looked like last year all over again.

.

It was apparent early on this was not going to be a good game for Stafford. Took a sack on 1st and goal, badly missed Williams on an easy pitch and catch for a td.

It got worse from there.

The Rams lost this game in the first half by not cashing in on their dominance with 3 trips near the goal line.

Honestly, for me, once Jackson went out, it became extremely difficult to throw the ball at that point. I am highly disappointed that we did not attempt to hardly run the ball at all. This seems like one of McVay‘s classic games where he decides not to run and be Pass happy all game long. I did not necessarily expect to win, but I honestly just give the credit to Cincinnati’s defense as they were pretty good overall, but solid in the Redzone. We know them, and they know us very well, so in my opinion, it is what it is. On to next week.

I don't want to hear shit about anything else - this game, this loss is 100% on Sean McVay. We went up against a terrible run D, and he decides not to fucking run, not to try to instill any balance in our offense, and in turn, lets the Bengals D tee off on Stafford. Bet Sean wishes he had Goff back right now so he could throw him under the bus for this loss. But no, Sean, this one is on you, completely, totally, and un-fucking-equivocally. You should hang your head in shame and give back your paycheck this week to Stan Kroenke, because you sure as fuck didn't earn it.

I feel terrible for all those young guys playing their hearts our trying to learn how to win only to have their efforts kneecapped by such a horrible coaching job.

The worst part, if we hadn't got robbed of 4 points on our first TD, we win the game, no matter how badly we played.
Not sure we would have won but I didn’t see anything that should have overturned the TD. Would love to hear explanation what they say touched out of bounds because it sure as shit wasn’t his heel. Also first interception sure looked like it rolled on the ground a bit before being secured. But what lost this game was the non commitment to a run game and poor OL pass protection. Looks like we will definately need an improvement at LT and a durable RG for 2024.

This is on McVay. Forget the Refs. First quarter. 1st and goal on the2 and you don't run. That's 4 points regardless of Refs. That's on McVay. Almost zero 12 personnel. And he doesn't think that at a minimum you either have to roll Stafford out to give him time or you have to chip block on the left side. Dumb coaching. Defense did their job. They were on the field most of the game

33 passes vs 12 runs not counting Stafford's scramble.

Did they run 12 personnel even once?

Oh well. If Jackson is out for some time, I hope Kevin Dotson is ready to play RG and Noteboom can go back to and hold up at LT.

Hope AJack gets back quick, Z Thomas is not a vialbe LT, he got his ass handed to him.

Don't know why Noteboom wasn't moved to LT and Anchrum to LG. Prolly still would have been a mess.

Thoughts….

1. Bungles OWNED the ESPN commentators..

2. McVay called a horrible offensive game. Maybe his worst ever. Why abandon the run all night?

3. We are fucked at LT with Jackson out.

You may have saved my life tonight.

Or my wife's.

I am still trying to talk her down.

Seanny McVay: The game plan tonight is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever seen. At no point in your rambling, incoherent pass happy offense were you even close to a balanced attack that could be considered a rational game plan. Every Ram fan watching this game is now dumber for having to endure it. I award you no victories and may the Football Gods have mercy on your soul.
It's a BILLY MADISON reference!!! You tell 'em Billy!!!!
I love it!!!!

They didn't do anything special other than get lucky with a coach who played right into their hands. McVay might as well have told them the playcall before the snap, because they knew not to worry about the run and knew they could simply tee off and go after Stafford.

The worst part is the first quarter felt like so many of our losses in the last few years. All the little breaks and bounces don't go our way and then we're stuck with mcvay and stafford stubbornly chucking the ball everywhere.
