TBH there are not many passing games in the NFL that scare anyone this year. Ours is actually a little bit scarier than most.

Therein lies the rub. Not having Havs killed us, and we've been fucked with injuries all season long on the OL, preventing us from getting the continuity we really need. That really showed up big tonight. I can't blame anyone for that, other than Lady Luck ... that baby door.

OTOH, I'm getting sick of Kyren putting the ball on the ground. I appreciate that he does what he does with the limited athleticism he's been given, but putting the ball on the carpet is unforgivable - especially at a point in the game when it could have given us some early momentum. Really tired of seeing Corum sitting on the sideline. He needs to get more carries, especially if ball security is going to be an issue with Williams.

Oh, about Karty ... next time we have a kicker like Matt Gay who's a FA, can we just go ahead and fucking pay him? Total penny-wise, pound-foolish move to let him walk because we have been screwed at the position ever since. Karty has had some inexcusable misses lately.

The Rams are in the midst of a rebuild with the defense. McVay is on record as saying that drafting and teaching the youth has re-energized him after he contemplated retirememt. There is zero evidence he'd leave if they rebuilt the offense like they have the defense.

I think McVay is one of the most honest and candid coaches when it comes to the media….but I also think there are times were he says things because he knows people will eat it up. Or because it’s just the right thing to say.

Yep.

And it’s frustrating because we spent a fuck ton of money on the offensive line in the offseason. Obviously injuries have played a huge part, but Snead and McVay correctly looked at the roster and said “our best chance at winning is keeping our QB upright”. And we just have really struggled to do that.

There may not be one single high flying passing offense in the NFL right now.receivers

The Bengals? great young recievers but no offensive line.

The Ravens actually have the highest yppass... but no one thinks of them as a scary passing team.

It’s hard to tell because every D in the league is playing some type of shell coverage to keep big plays from happening in the passing game. Look no further than Mahomes YPA trends over the last few seasons. Defenses will gladly give you the 5 yard stick routes. Even historically great deep threats like Justin Jefferson and Tyreek Hill aren’t hitting nearly as many big plays as they used to.

The Horns are very competitive if Matthew is protected. When he is forced to rush throws or absorb sacks that kills the offense.

Barkley gave Philly a decisive edge. Without him, this game is much closer and probably winnable.

Stafford had to play hero ball a lot last year even with how good the line played (it was an insane year from him) but that's a high variable way to play ball and he's had to do it again this year but he's making 2-3 less insane plays a game (again not sustainable!) so the O is just not looking as good. Kupp has slowed down a bunch too.

And we ran into a VERY GOOD Eagles team that has put it all together on D after some meh weeks at the beginning of a year and an offense that's on a heater as long as Brown and Barkely are on the field together.

This team isn't a winning team without Stafford next year so we need to keep him, keep throwing resources at oline and WR after that while supplementing our secondary and we have a chance for a playoff run.
